We have been home for about 2 weeks and I have been putting corn out for the deer. They come right up to our fence and eat. We even put out a kiddie pool full of water for them that they drink out of. There have been 5 bucks - 2 eight pointers, 2 six pointers and one with antlers on only one side 3 points. One of the bucks has a bad leg that was broken last year and he is still hobbling on it. The antlers have been covered in velvet until 2 days ago. There are also 3 does hanging around with 3 fawns. We saw one of the does give birth to another fawn earlier today. The lay in the yard across the street. Thought yall would like to see some photos I have taken. Sorry I was not able to get a photo of the new fawn yet. BTW the lighter colored bucks have a white coat in the winter. There are two of them. Anyone else have wildlife photos?

I was at south Llano state park in Junction,Tx a few months ago and spotted many deer and antelope grazing, also many birds.
The elk are from south rim grand canyon last summer. Click the thumbnail, then click again on that picture to enlarge one more time for more detail, Trace

We get deer in our back yard, too. There's a small group of them that run around the 11 acre wooded field/semi-swamp our yard abuts. Occasionally, we've seen doe with spotted fawns frolicking back there.

At the campsite, these are regular visitors. Along with pileated woodpeckers, robins, hawks, etc. We've seen a small red fox on occasion.

Riding the scenic Cumbres and Toltec Narrow Gauge Railroad from Chama NM to Antonito CO, we got to see this great herd of Elk. Although they were far off, it was amazing to see. Later, a small group passed in front of the train and continued up the mountainside. We saw many calves in this group. For a city girl from Texas, this was quite a sight. ~Erika

When we were in the Keys last month we went to and area called Big Pine Key where the endangered Key deer live. We were driving down into an area called No Name Key and saw these deer on the side of the road. They only grow about 18-30 inch's tall. They are protected by the Florida Wildlife. I was able to get out of the truck and take these close ups.DSC02448.JPGDSC02452.JPGDSC02457.JPGDSC02473.JPG
