This is an informal get together of HL friends some of whom are attending the South Carolina Rally in Charleston. Everyone is welcome! Some of us are traveling North after the rally and will most likely have to winterize upon our return home. This means the end of the camping season for us so we are trying to squeeze in a few extra moments with friends!

We will be departing Charleston on Monday following the rally and heading to Willow Tree Resort where we will stay until it's time to head North on Saturday (11/12).

SunCruz Casino Cruise will sail at 11:00am and return to dock 4:15pm. Click HERE to see their web page. The dock is a 15 mile drive from Willow Tree. We are waiting to decide on the day to sail until we can look for the best weather and sailing condition possible. Kevin Wolbeck has stepped up to handle the cruise coordinating.

Willowtree after the SC rally sounds like a great idea for those that can make it. We don't know at this time if we can make the SC rally, so we have not yet registered for the Oak Plantation event. Here's hoping we can end up doing both of these!Happy camping!Jim

Sorry we can't make the camp-out but here's another great place to eat. We love eating in Calabash, NC (just right up the road from Longs) at Dockside Seafood. It's right on the intercoastal waterway. There's another restuarant next door called Capt. Dick's which is an older established eating joint but we don't think the foods as good. Ya'll have fun.

We would love to have you and Nancy with us and we understand your inability to schedule right now. Happy camping is the only camping Buddy!

Nathan & Byrd we are sorry that you can't be with us but you know you are welcome if your plans change! Thanks for the restaurant tips. We had a lengthy discussion about Dick's while at the DC Rally. The place sounds very interesting and entertaining from what I hear!

We ate at Capt. Dicks in 2005. It was decent but would love to try an even better place. Thanks for the referral :) We "hope" to make it to this rally.

[h=1]Here is an online description of Dick's in Barefoot Landing.

Dicks Last Resort[/h][h=4]American Restaurant in Barefoot Landing[/h]
Unique restaurant at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach with a unusual theme: The wait staff insults the guests, makes custom "hats" for each patron to wear, and generally keeps its diners laughing throughout their meal. Not suited for people without a healthy sense of humor.

Sounds like a fun place and Mark & Lucia have been there and they said it was soooooo funny!

Just a thought. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in going on a casino boat cruise. It is about 10 miles from the campground. The fee is $10 and the buffet is $10. If we get enough we will qualify for a group discount. Here is a link to their website.

Leslie and I are set up to join the group in Willow Tree! We are arriving on sunday, 6 Nov, and departing on Saturday, 12 Nov. We have a hot tub site, and the rest of the amenities sound great!

Jim and I are planning to be there. Just made the reservation with Willow Tree. The projection on finishing our house is now mid to end-Nov.

Wow, very cool Nancy & Jim. I am going to try to call Willow Tree today and see if we can get a group discount or how many rigs are necessary for a discount. We may just qualify or close to it!

Just spoke to Willow Tree and a group is ten rigs or more so I think we'll qualify for a 10% discount on the site rates. Anyone calling please mention Heartland Owners Club so they can log you in with the group. We have no actual group section so site assignments may be spead out some. I am also trying to get their hall for our Thanksgiving Dinner one evening but I have to call back for that. I'll keep you posted!

We, unfortunately, are probably not going to be able to be there now. I had to use over 80 hours of vacation/sick leave due to my recent hospitilization and just don't have any vacation time left now. I still have the reservation in case we can work something out, but it doesn't look good.

Tried to post something this a.m. to let you know we will be there, but the wifi gizmo didn't get it out for some reason. So, to restate, we'll be checking in on the 7th and leaving on the 12th. Our site is #26. And, I'm sure Flash will want to do the gambling cruz thingee. I'll just wander around the boat looking for a cold beer? Imagine that?

We are very happy to have you and "Flash" with us on the cruise! I'll be seated at a slot machine next to her and you and John seated at the bar! It will be fun I'm sure.

We can qualify for a group rate on the cruise with 10 or more passengers so we'll give that a go! I am waiting for a return call from the group reservations department. I also noticed that Wednesday is 55+ Day on their web page. If we go on Wednesday all passengers 55 and over board and eat "FREE"! If this promotion continues into November we will plan for Wednesday so all y'all can watch me pay!!!
