5th Airborne Pin Box Question

 I'm looking at purchasing a 5th Airborne for my BH 3400RL. I have a 1621 Lippert standard pin box. Airborne makes a 16K PN 5AB-E1621/16K for the standard box and a 21K PN 5AB-E1621/610 for the 1621HD. The 1621HD model will fit either box, while the 16K only fits the standard box. I know my unit only requires the 16K, but would the 21K be better or would it be an overkill or make the ride too harsh? The 21K is basically the same except beefed up for the added capacity. According to Heartland they only use the HD boxes on the 40 ft Cyclone and some Landmarks. Just wondering if anyone is using the 21K box on in a standard pin box?

Earlier this year, I replaced the pin box on my 2009 BH3670 with the 5th Airborne 5AB-E1621-610. The OEM Lippert pin box has a tag on it which clearly states it is a 1621HD with a 18000 lb. rating. Perhaps on the 2006's, they used a lighter pin box or the BH3400 is a lot lighter than the BH3670. Unless the cost savings is astronomical, I'd go up rather than just enough.

I would get the heavier one. If you ever get a bigger 5th wheel you can move it from your currant rig to the new and save a few dollars down the road. Ernie
