Are airbags necessary for our truck?

We are looking to purchase the NT 22FBS. My husband has a 2006 Toyota Tundra SR5 double cab. He has the towing package on it and it is rated to pull 7000. We plan to get the brake controller and equalizer hitch with the sway control. Does anyone know if this would be sufficient for towing? We are new to towing a trailer and a friend recommended airbags but he owns a fifth wheel, not a travel trailer. Thank you for any advice.

I would not think air bags would be required. The equalizer hitch will help to distribute load to the frames.

Travel trailer hitch loads on tow vehicles are less than 5th wheels.

Hope this helps, hopefully more will chime in with specific experience with similar tow vehicles and trailers.

Take care,
Brian

You don't need air bags to pull a travel trailer. If the weight distributing hitch is set up properly you use that to level the tow vehicle not air bags....Don

I would think that if the TT you are looking at has a tongue weight less then the truck is rated for you would not need them,if it is more then they would be helpful.
