Army's primary choice is still the .300 Winchester Mag.

DW_Gray, Yes the Army does keep the .300 Win Mag in its arsenal, but down range that changes to the .338 Lapua. When I was down range 2007 & was injured I was placed as the NCOIC of a range in the south. I think I can count the number of .300 Win Mag on the field with two hands. You have to remember we haven't used the Infantry in years. We finally got smart and started launching rockets from afar. You still have to clear small towns in order to run convoys through there. But anyway, yes .300 Win Mag is an awsome round. I too, use one for hunting. Hand built Bolt Action, Stainless Fluted Barrel with comp., adjustable trigger & Synthetic Stock, Zeiss Scope.

Been down range 2X Convoy Commander on both. Long Live the Good O'l US of A !
