To Everyone Reading this Posting:
Leave this posting, click on "Portal" then click back on "Forum". Look at the left side of the popup that quickly goes away to see the number of users online and the number of PAID Heartland Owner's Group members. This morning the numbers were about 450 online and 54 paid members. Every time I look at the forum I notice these numbers are in the same ratios. Do we REALLY have that high of numbers of prospective owners online as is the usual explanation??? Hasn't this forum alone been a VERY valuable resource to all of us owners, that NEEDS to be supported?
The membership is really dirt cheap, the benefits abundant. Membership is $60 per couple for 3 years. That's only $20 per year! Can you even go out to eat 1 meal for that?? You get a license plate sized membership plate placard and holder, and color engraved membership ID badges. Heck at $30 for the plate and $10 for the badges, that is about $50 value of the $60 paid! That's what you physically get when you sign up. But read the next paragraph and see what you get when you attend rallies.
I went to the Heartland Western Regional Rally over 4th of July weekend in Sparks, Nevada this year. Heartland supports the rallies financially, and while this might not be typical, Heartland Corporate (not the Owner's Group) bought all Owners Group Members buffet dinner ($10) and show tickets ($25) at the Nugget Casino, all of the meat for the potluck($5), and all of the gifts for the free raffle($15). For a couple, the Heartland contributions at this one rally was MORE than the 3 year membership cost!! And there are many more rallies left in the next 2 1/2 years for me.
So all you non-members online out there, click on "Owners Club" at the top of this page to get on board and do your bit to support this great Heartland Owners Group and become what some of us refer to as a "HO" (Heartland Owner) of a "HOG" (Heartland Owners Group member). Then get to the rallies and have fun!

Nice job Bill. For all you folks on the fence please keep in mind that you can attend as many chapter rallies as you want and they are free to all HOC members. Cost of membership $70.00 memories you make "priceless".

Ok, Bill, it worked. I just joined the owners' club. Too bad I won't receiver the club goodies before I leave for the Canton, TX rally, but we're heading out this weekend for Lake O' the Pines, TX and then on to Canton. . . . hehehe, I'm usually not a joiner because the last time I joined something, I ended up staying for 25 years. Thanks for the reminder about the club because I was one of the folks "on the fence."

Way to go! Hope others follow your lead! Oh, and about those 25 years, thank you for your service to our country and I'm positive you won't regret the next 25 years for a minute!!!!

You've convinced me - we get some great information from the forum. However, I've tried 4 times to join and the submit button won't work. It says the VIN is correct, so I guess I'll have to contact them to find out how to proceed. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

You wont be sorry. To paraphrase Will Rogers "I wouldn't want to join a club that would have me as a member" But this is the exception to the rule!!

Now, if we could only get some more mountain region owners to sign up I would be an extremely happy camper

Mike and Peg Finnegan:

First of all Mike, thank you for your service to our country brother and welcome home.
I would also like to Welcome you and DW aboard the HOG Express. You made a very wise 2nd choice in joining this group. Your first good choice was buying a Heartland product. I am know that you will hear of problems others are having, in fact you may have already heard of some. But hey, we are all in this boat together and eager to pass things on if you our your DW have any questions or problems. DW and I will be heading to your state the end of October or there abouts. We will be staying on the gulf coast in Fulton, Texas untill the end of march. Perhaps we will bump into each other. Again, welcome home, and thank you!!!

I've wanted to sign up before but it requires my VIN and by the time I get a look at it I forgot what I needed it for. Hehee Thanks for the reminder.

What he said. . . Thanks, Bill. A lot more about the Heartland Owners Club can be seen here

Club members also have access to the Heartland Owners Club Newsletter full of tons of information about the Club and Club activities.

An update: effective January 1, 2011 the dues are $70 per rig for US addresses and $90 per rig for Canadian addresses. The difference due to duty costs of shipping to Canada.

Welcome, welcome, welcome to Glen and Sue HOC member #2003 and Mike and Peg HOC member #2001.

If you would like to join us click here to go to the application. Sign up for fun!!!!

And if you have questions or the application is giving you grief just email me at club@heartland owners.org and I will be glad to help.

Well stated Bill. No better experience for us than what we have received from the Heartland Owners Club. It's worth many times over what it costs....Don

Everyone:
Thanks for the praise. I have to admit I was an owner/non HOG member for over 2 years. I guess its like they say: "The most dedicated church member is a convert".
Codycarver: I have heard that quote attributed to Groucho Marx in Hollywood in the 1930's when he was blackballed from a country club membership because he was Jewish.

Remember: We need more HO's and HOG's!!!

Wow - what a great thread. Thank you Bill for starting it. Congrats and thank you also to those that joined as a result of Bill helping you over the cliff :) I saw your applications come through today and then saw Julie approve them and assign your numbers. Exciting!

Joining a club isn't for everyone. Each has to make his own decision. But if you want to really have a lot of fun with your Heartland RV - going to a rally or two, or three or 10 each year is a BLAST. So many great places, great people and simply fun times.

And as was mentioned, at only $70 for 3 full years of paid up dues - it's a great value. For just what you get "in the box" plus your club badges and shipping - it costs all of that $70. So going to rallies is gravy :) And if you need to buy parts from Heartland directly, use your membership to get 10% off. And there's there quarterly club newsletter that is huge and fabulous! Then if you can make the annual North American Heartland Owners Rally, you get $25 off your registration. It's so worth it!

Thank you, thank you, thank you,

Jim

Bill, I am going to use your posting verbatim to share with others when they asked why should I join the Heartland Owners Club. It sure makes the point well. Thank you and forgive me for stealing.

And if someone is wanting to see what the Rally's are all about, come on down to Piney Grove Campground at New Site, Ms. October 6th-9th. First Ever Mississippi/Alabama Heartland Owners Club Chapter Rally.
