Count us in.

10-11-2011, 02:57 AM
You're down JD. Looking forward to it!

10-11-2011, 04:46 AM
Hmmm, Our itinerary for the winter has us leaving Victoria, TX on 4/21 and heading back to OH. If everything works out OK we can leave a day early and stop by. The wheels are spinning as we are spending this winter and early spring traveling Southern TX. We'll keep you advise.
Do you need a positive commitment date. ?
If so what date ?
As long as the Old Ford and Bighorn hold up we should be able to make it.

Jim and wilma

10-11-2011, 06:22 AM
Wilma and Jim, I must release any unused sites a month before the rally, so March 20th would be the latest that you could be assurred of getting a site.

10-11-2011, 07:31 AM
Lindsay and myself will be there!

10-11-2011, 07:45 AM
Thanks Jay, we will put that on our calendar and let you know.

10-11-2011, 07:47 AM
Brett, it will be good to see you and Lindsay again. Wilma and Jim, hope you can make it.

10-11-2011, 08:45 AM

Put Maureen and I down. Not sure if we will leave Saturday or stay a little later this time.

10-11-2011, 08:53 PM
Buddy, you and Maureen are down. I hope that you can stay all weekend. We had a little "after rally-rally" that was fun. We got rained out of sitting outside but still had a good time.

10-11-2011, 08:55 PM
Thanks Jay I am working on scheduling now so that we can slip down to the valley also. I will keep you posted.

10-11-2011, 08:58 PM
That would be great Buddy. We have a great time in the valley and of course, meeting all the Heartlanders there.

10-12-2011, 08:25 AM
Count us in. Question though . . . since this is our first Rally, do we call the park to make a reservation or is it covered with your 30 reserved sites? We're excited about being there and meeting everybody.

10-12-2011, 09:05 AM
Glen and Sue, contact the park to make your reservation. They will place you in one of the assigned sites for the rally.

10-12-2011, 12:02 PM
Thats a long haul...............but count us in. I'll get Marti to contact Rayford.

10-12-2011, 04:05 PM
Stacy and I will need to wait until after the first of the year to make the decision. Have to see how her contracts pan out for the year. If it were up to me I'd say yes and hole up for the winter down there and stop by on our way home in the spring.

10-12-2011, 07:23 PM
Tom, I know that its a long way for you, what is it, 20 miles or so? Don't know how you can afford the fuel to get all the way here.

Rex, we will be looking forward to you and Stacey, hope you can make it.

10-12-2011, 09:13 PM
That sounds like a great time, we will put it on the calender. Maybe we can get a good Oklahoma delagation to come down. We hope to have our chapter started by then...
Larry and Donna Keever
Oklahoma City, Ok.

10-12-2011, 09:19 PM
Sounds good Larry, hope y'all can make it.

10-13-2011, 07:00 PM
Hey Jay, Pencil us in. I figure if Tom and Marti can drive the 20 or so miles from Tom Ball or whereever, the least we can do is drive the 300 plus from west Texas (with a couple of stops on the way) to make it. My only stopper might be my Austrian daughter who may be arriving here about that time, but we will work around it. BTW, we're kind of looking at the BH3070 now. It is a little heavier than the Silverado, but according to the specs, my little truck should handle it ok . . . plus it has more perks.

10-13-2011, 09:15 PM
You can make it Mike. Shoot I am driving almost 10 miles further than Tom. :D

10-14-2011, 07:56 AM
Mike, I'll add you and Peg to the list. Glad to hear that the 3070 will work for you. Looking forward to seeing it.

10-17-2011, 04:26 PM
Glen and Sue Jackson contacted me by PM to sign up for the rally.

10-17-2011, 05:52 PM
Just made reservations for the rally. Plan to arrive on Monday, 16th and leave Monday 23rd.

Look forward to seeing you all there.

10-17-2011, 06:01 PM
Great news Bob, its been too long since you've been to one of our rallies.

Paul & Nan
10-17-2011, 06:54 PM
Since we should be home in Texas, and it should only be about 100 miles for us we are looking at coming as well. Nan and Paul

10-17-2011, 07:49 PM
Paul and Nan, you're signed up. Looking forward to seeing you in April.

Wow, this rally is filling up fast...!

10-23-2011, 11:59 AM

10-23-2011, 03:14 PM
Jay, it was wonderful seeing you and Stella as well, we finally picked it up this past Friday morning and have been moving everthing from the Cyclone to the Landmark (you know the drill all to well), but we did really enjoy the king bed Friday night, looking forward to seeing all at the Rally in April, safe travels.

10-23-2011, 03:23 PM
Yep, I don't want to move ever again.... Now to make Heartland stop adding cool features that make me want a new rig.

10-30-2011, 01:00 PM

10-31-2011, 07:03 PM

10-31-2011, 07:53 PM
Jay lets us know when you get to Rayford for the winter (ya'll may already be there) Connie and I will drop by for a visit or you and Stella can drop by the house. We are 5 minutes up the road.

10-31-2011, 08:09 PM
We'll be there tomorrow afternoon in site 103 and will be there until the first week in January. Looking forward to seeing you.

11-08-2011, 11:26 PM
JJ, Mike and I are planning on it. I need to look at my election calendar to make sure, but we should be there. I'll call & get our reservation. Patrice:cool:

11-09-2011, 09:45 AM

12-16-2011, 01:35 PM
Stacy and I will not make the spring rally. We will see everyone at Gillette at the national rally. We will be arriving on the 12th.

12-16-2011, 01:44 PM
Rex, sorry you and Stacy won't be able to make it. This is a beautiful park and you'll be missing a good time with the other Heartlanders.

12-16-2011, 01:49 PM
Rex, sorry you and Stacy won't be able to make it. This is a beautiful park and you'll be missing a good time with the other Heartlanders.

We want to come but I can't pull that much time away from the business and the farm that early in the year and still make Gillette.

12-16-2011, 02:27 PM
Rex, I understand. We'll catch you another time.

12-16-2011, 11:08 PM
Jay, Diane and I have just returned from our trip to Williamsburg/Jamestowm and points in between. Had a good time and gained an increased appreciation of the historical events and locales of our country. We have registered at Rayford Crossing and need to let you know that we will be there for the April rally. Will miss you and Stella at Kerrville... just have to wait a little longer to see the new Landmark.

ps; The slow leak we had when departing Canton turned out to be a cracked rim. Second one we have experienced.

Jerry and Diane

12-17-2011, 10:07 AM
Jerry, it will be good to see you and Diane again. Glad you had a good trip and that you got your slow leak figured out.

01-05-2012, 08:12 PM

02-19-2012, 01:00 PM
Here is some more good news, especially if you are already a full timer or are thinking about it. Have you ever heard of Sky Med (http://www.skymed.com/)? They are providers of medical evacuation transportation for you and your loved ones in case of illness or injury.

Stan and Catherine Griffith are going to be in the area and will come down on Saturday, April 21st to speak with anyone that has an interest in this service. He will have a door prize to award to someone and will stay for our potluck supper for any further questions.

I will have some handout material for you to review and ask questions of us as full timers and any other full timers that are willing to answer questions about our life as full time RV'ers.

02-21-2012, 05:55 AM
George and Lynn Santowski contacted me to say they will be here with us.

02-27-2012, 02:09 PM
Jay, would you add Dan and Ann Mayer. I just spoke with Melissa to reserve a spot; arriving on Thursday. Departing Sunday.

We've still got 7 spaces left, so come on down!!!

03-02-2012, 02:52 PM
Things have changed a bit for us. The Spring Break seems to have used up most of the campgrounds, so we will be at Rayford Crossing a week early. We will be in site# 108 from the 9th to the 15th then move to #77 on the 16th and leave on the 23rd. If your around bring your "Red Solo Cup and Lets have a party"..... LOL....BC

03-02-2012, 03:28 PM
That's good Bob. We had planned to arrive on the 18th but may change our arrival to a few days earler. See you soon!

03-11-2012, 05:51 PM
Pat and I will stay and listen to the seminar. Maybe, then sooner we will be full-timers.

03-11-2012, 06:03 PM
That sounds good Pat, we're getting excited about it.

03-11-2012, 10:51 PM
Hi Jay,

Looks like things will work for us now. Put Jim and Bette down for 4/18 to 4/23.

Jim M

03-12-2012, 07:55 AM
Thats great to hear Jim, looking forward to seeing you there!

03-15-2012, 04:43 PM
Good News Gang

I talked to Joe French, General Manager of Ron Hoover RV in Katy today. They are sponsoring our rally and will furnish us with a breakfast on Saturday morning at 9 AM.

He is also planning to bring a technician to the park to do minor repairs and adjustments for us. The tech will be onsite on Friday and Saturday, so if there is some little something that needs to be repaired, it will be done at NO CHARGE to us by Ron Hoover RV.

Time is getting short but we still have a few sites left if you want to come with us!

03-18-2012, 09:28 PM

This is great! What is considered a minor adjustment/repair? When retracting the LR slide, it likes to stick for a split sec. and then go, only on one side... I think it needs an adjustment. Would this be fair to ask about? Also, we noticed this weekend we lost our radio antenna somewhere. :(

03-18-2012, 09:35 PM
The repairs would be mainly things that can be done in the field without a shop. You can call Joe French at Ron Hoov er RV (281 829-1560) and he can tell you what they can do. If you buy an antenna, they should be able to install it for you. As far as adjustments to the slides, I believe they can do that, but ask Joe.

03-22-2012, 12:10 PM
Jerry and Diane Talley won't be able to come this year due to some health issues. I hope everyone will join me with adding Diane to a prayer list.

03-22-2012, 06:24 PM
I am very sorry to hear this. We will add them to our prayers..

Thank you for the information.

03-22-2012, 07:17 PM
Thanks Bob, we can never have too many prayers!

03-25-2012, 05:11 PM
Okay, today I released the remaining sites but there is still time to sign up and come withus. I have asked the park to assign anyone else that wants to come to a site near the group.

03-25-2012, 08:15 PM
I hope we're going to be able to make it! The trailers been at Ron hoovers for about a month now and they are still sounding like its going to be a few more weeks. Having to get another FW tank. Hopefully I'll know more tomorrow.

03-25-2012, 09:00 PM
Brett, please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Sorry you may not make it. Make sure that you let Rayford know if you have to cancel.

03-29-2012, 08:25 PM
Richard & Lucy Seibert will be at the Rally again this year. Loking foward to seeing everyone again.

03-30-2012, 07:13 AM
Richard and Lucy, it will be good to see you again soon.

04-02-2012, 03:51 PM
The new owner of Jim Beletti's San Antonio demo unit, Luther Cockerham and his wife, will be attending the rally with us. We will welcome them as well as the other first-time rally-goers.

Won't be long 'til we rally again!

04-02-2012, 03:58 PM

Won't be long 'til we rally again!

This is great news Jay. Luther seems thrilled with the unit. I'd love to see a group of Heartlanders come along side him and his wife to really help them feel comfortable as new owners and maybe even answer a few questions about his coach.

04-02-2012, 06:34 PM
You got it Jim, we'll take good care of him.

04-09-2012, 10:57 PM
Well I am here. Looking for someone to give a hard time. Why don't some of you good ole boys hurry up and get here.. I need a morning coffee chat.

Looking forward to seeing everyone when you get here. I am in site 108 until the 16th then I go to site 77.

See ya soon.

04-10-2012, 06:34 AM
Bob, we've had a slight change of plans and will arrive on Sunday the 15th. Gotta go see the grandson pitch another shutout.

04-11-2012, 08:57 PM
Hey everybody.... What is the plan for Friday? DH is off and I was thinking of coming for the day. Also thought about bringing a friend and coming for the pot luck.

04-11-2012, 09:14 PM
Michelle, Friday is arrival day for several of the people that will be at the rally, so we don't plan too much for Friday night. We'll probably meet at my site and use the gas grill to fix an assortment of grilled foods or if anyone wishes to, go out to one of the local restaurants to eat.

Saturday we'll have a breakfast furnished by Ron Hoover RV, nothing planned for lunch and a guest speaker in the afternoon. The potluck dinner will be on Saturday evening but you're welcome to come.

04-12-2012, 01:05 PM
We aren't going to make it Jay, had some things come up so we have to head out of town that and the trailer is in getting one of the living room windows completely replaced. Dealer had the window out ready for the new to go in and the wrong window shows up. Things may change but don't count on it at this point. Did you end up with the same spot as last year?

04-12-2012, 10:20 PM
Is Ron Hoover RV going to be bringing some techs for minor fixes.. I have a recessed light in my ODS slide above my recliners that I need to fix or replace. I have a new fixture but need to know how to remove it from the overhead.

04-13-2012, 07:41 AM
JD, bummer that you can't make it. We'll think of you when we're at the potluck! I am in the same site as last year.

Bob, Ron Hoover will be out on Friday and Saturday and should be able to help you with your light.

04-13-2012, 10:37 AM

Not sure about your fixture, but most of the flush models use a spring clip on 2 sides to hold the fixture into the ceiling hole. For these, I grasp the lens on 2 sides and pull down until the fixture comes away from the ceiling a half inch to an inch. Then I work one side, at the clip, down until the clip comes out of the hole and into the open. Then the other side drops down easily.

Good luck,

Does each site at Rayford have gas grills?

04-13-2012, 02:13 PM
No, only the premium sites have grills but they do rent gas grills for other sites.

04-13-2012, 02:28 PM
Gary and I are signed up!!! I am waiting on my confirmation from Rayford.

Got confirmation we are in site 76.

04-13-2012, 08:41 PM
Thats great Michelle, looking forward to seeing you again.

04-15-2012, 07:10 PM
Jay, will Ron Hoover have any rigs there at Rayford for us to look at?

04-15-2012, 08:35 PM
Erika, I haven't spoken with Joe in a couple of weeks but the last I heard was that he was bringing a couple of Landmarks, but I will find out for sure which models and let you know.

04-17-2012, 03:25 PM
Hey, Jay, I haven't seen any discussion about food yet, but put us down for deviled eggs and some kind of dessert. We'll see you Friday as we're going to spend a couple of days at Cedar Breaks COE Park on Lake Georgetown on the way. Looking forward to it. Mike and Peggy

04-17-2012, 09:50 PM
Deviled eggs and a dessert sound good Mike. Looking forward to seeing you and Peg again soon.

04-18-2012, 03:04 PM
I am going to make a broccoli and cheese dish.

04-18-2012, 08:25 PM
Sounds pretty yummy! See ya soon!

04-19-2012, 05:24 PM
We're in site 34

04-19-2012, 09:36 PM
We'll see y'all Friday. Hope to pull out after lunch, about a 4.5 hour trip for us.

Did we miss arts and crafts class?

04-20-2012, 06:03 AM
Well the rally is officially underway! A good group of us went to the Casa Imperial restaurant for some good Mexican food last night and then, as you can see by The Bobcat's pictures, came back to the park and had a great time sitting around admiring Jim's new hair.

Follow-up to a previous post about the display units. Ron Hoover will have a Road Warrior toy hauler and a new floorplan Big Country to show us.

Much more fun today as the rest of the crowd arrives...!

04-20-2012, 07:54 AM
I did not know that was Jim McGee. Nice Willy Nelson goes Mountain Man picture :)

04-20-2012, 07:56 AM
J2, love the new hair. All of it. LOL
Nice pics BC.

04-20-2012, 02:11 PM
I just called rayford and cancelled our reservations. We are instead heading up north of Sam Rayburn lake tomorrow for a funeral. We had the camper ready to roll and everything. Y'all have a great time and we might try to stop in and say hi.

04-20-2012, 02:53 PM
Sorry to hear that you can't make it. Travel safe and keep in touch. Catch you next time.

04-20-2012, 03:40 PM
Brett, sorry you can't make it and sorry for your loss. We'll be looking for you in Boerne!

04-22-2012, 05:04 PM
Another Heartland Rally done!! Thanks to Jay and Stella and all the helpers, we had a great time as usual. Good friends, good food, good fun, make for a good Heartland rally.

Also a BIG THANKS to Joe French of Ron Hoover RV's for the service tech, Miguel, and the minor repairs and also for the great door prizes.

Thanks again to Jay and Stella for the planning.

Jim and Bette

Looks like another awesome Heartland Owners Rally in Texas!

One really has to appreciate dealers like Ron Hoover on this rally and Dick Gore on the Myrtle Beach, SC rally. Few dealers really get it or have an interest in coming along side a club. I know first hand that support from dealers like this that really get it, not only pays dividends for rally attendees immediately (door prizes, meals, seminars, light maintenance work, show coaches etc), but it nearly always pays dividends for the dealer with increased coach and service sales. To me - it's a win-win.

Thanks Jay and Stella and all who helped you put this one one. Thanks to all the club members that came out to support this chapter! Heartlanders are the best!

Big thanks to ron hoover rv for the great door prizes!!!! They had 2 rv's on site that were open to the public to check out. We showed ours to a couple next to us. They were sold on the bighorn & heartland quality. They want one!
#1 door prize $699.00 tailgate sat. Dish
bbq pit, outdoor rug, ice chest, & many, many others. Everybody there got a door prize of some kind. We did not win the grand prize, but did win it from bob & pat curry who put it up for auction after winning it. Thanks to all who helped put the rally on. Too many to name.

And a big belated thanks to Jay, Stella, Jimtoo and all the others that put this rally on. It was great (and I got a free shower and rv wash job setting up on Friday afternoon). I too want to give a special thanks to Joe French and the Ron Hoover RV bunch especially since we were the lucky recipient of one of those great door prizes. We especially enjoyed meeting all the people. Sorry this is so late, but we were at Cedar Breaks COE park the last couple of days and there is no wifi access there (remembering that we're the ones with one of the no frills TTs). Thanks again all.

We second the kudos! It was fun meeting new folks, seeing old friends, eating great food and sharing great stories. Thanks all, this is why we love our Heartland. The best coaches with the best owners!

Double kudos to Jay and Stella for another great rally. Joe French also put the big spotlight on the Ron Hoover quality work with his service technician taking care of several rigs problems, no charge. Joe then supplied several really premium door prizes. Well done ! ! ! !
