I finally decided to install a power interupt switch for my touch audio unit. My question is...
The specs for the touch audio says 12 volt dc / 10 amp
The rocker switch I found at Radio Shack is rated 125v ac / 10amp or 250v ac/6amp
I was so focused on the amps I didn't notice the a/c or d/c rating.
I tested it and all works fine, so I went ahead and installed it in a semi permanent manner, although I have the fuse pulled for now.
Is this safe? I am not very electrical savey, but my thinking is that if it can handle 125 v then it surely can handle 12 v, just not sure
about the a/c vs. d/c thing. It's just an interupt rocker switch, Am I overthinking this?
Thanks
Bret
