Great! I should have a little more info this weekend. Everyone will make their reservations directly I think, still have to work out how many sites to hold with Stephanie. If you do call ahead, ask for her as she knows what's going on and be sure to tell them you're with the Heartland group.

Glad you picked that weekend. We will be leaving San Antonio on March 19th. That will give us plenty of time to get there. BTW we will be in Redding tomorrow afternoon after leaving Grants Pass. Got an 8:00 Friday apointment at Hendersons that will take till noon. Staying a couple of nights in Redding. Do you work Saturday Deb? We will stop by the store if we know you are working.

BTW where is Rolling Hills?

Deb,
We made reservations with Stephanie arriving 3-28, departing 4-4. We always look foreward to your rally because by that time we have not been out in awhile.
If you get to Rolling Hills the buffet is excellent.

Art & Teresa, wonderful! glad you'll get to join us. Oroville and Rolling Hills are kind of our "home" parks. Down here this weekend at Oroville celebrating our 35th anniversary. Neither one of us could decide what to do so we just came here. Very relaxing with no schedule.

Thanks PJ, I'll give them a call next week. I'd be glad to have them here. I'm going to try to round up as many vendors as would be interested. If I can convince Tony (crazycooter) to come to an RV park, you can see what an over-the-top, fully decked out for boon-docking rig looks like with his cyclone Ti. I think he enough solar to power a small city. LOL Pretty tricked out.

Do you use it from the inside when the slides are in or get on a ladder and do them from the outside? A small wager between Karol and I will be setteled by your reply. This just may be the best yet for Norcal. Looks like a ton of fun already!
For those of you thinking about going, please call and reserve a spot as soon as you can. It's a small 43 space park and I can only hold 10 spaces, but if you call and reserve, they don't count those against my 10 held. If you wind up canceling, if it's more than 48 hours ahead, they only charge a $10 cancellation fee and no other charges. If I have to cancel one of the $10, it's $20 and the first night for fees.
I'd like to hold the 10 open as long as I can for new members and owners. If you're just not able to determine if you can go or not until the last minute, let me know and I can put you in one of the 10 sites.

Ray and Gail, Thanks for letting me know. Looking forward to seeing you guys again. You did the correct thing, as they are putting us kind of in one section. We've only held the 10 spaces for a little breathing room in case the park fills up fast for that weekend. And we're hoping that Heartlanders reserve early and fills up the park. :)

Let them know you're with the HL group. Since you're already club members, that's all there is to it, other than letting me know when you make your reservations. Ray, Deb and All:
I have had a group communications idea for rallies for a while, and wondered if we would like to try it out at the Feather Falls Rally. This would be great for not only the scheduled events, but the impromptu "campfires" and left overs lunches, etc. Maybe even the hello's and goodbyes.
Just about everybody has a pair of Family Radio Service (FRS) walkie-talkies for parking and campground communications. If we could all agree on a common channel to monitor during day/evening hours, anyone transmitting on that channel would be speaking to the entire group, wherever they are. This might eliminate "door-to-door announcements, and anyone being left out of things.
Just an idea.

Just as an aside, I thought I would share my travel plans for the rally. I am going to a LOW's (Loners on Wheels - An RV singles group) rally at Woodson Bridge Rv Park in Corning the weekend before (3/21-3/25), will fill in the midweek at Black Butte Lake COE park near Orland (3/25-3/30), then on to Feather Falls on 3/30.

02-17-2012, 01:36 AM
That's a great idea Bill. It gives me a good excuse to upgrade my FRS's. We'll have to decide what channel and sub-channel. We plan on going up from Sacramento on the 29th. See you there.

Excellent idea Bill! I think most everyone has a set, and if they don't most of us could loan one to them. I'm working on a trip to the wineries, but checking into the possibility of using the casino's shuttles rather than individual cars. Looks like we will have participation by RV's of Sacramento again, so looks to be a nice rally for us. Working on Camco and Dometic for some raffle prizes as well as the usual donors.
So far, Sonny from Mobile Outfitters is planning to be there and has given us a Correct Track system to auction off. Hendersons will be in Phoenix for the GS rally, So Sonny will cover the CP info as well.
WE HAVE 23 RIGS REGISTERED!!!!

Jim, I would second that. LOTs of great food and lots of great people. Since starting the Chapter 4 years ago, I have made so many great friends. One of the reasons I keep doing this is because it's a lot of fun. I tell everyone that all I do is provide the opportunity to have fun and you can have as much fun as you want at these events. You are absolutely welcome to attend this rally. If you're just stopping by to visit with us, no fee needed. If you'd like to spend the weekend with us, we do have a modest $20 charge for non-members and you'll need to make your reservations at the KOA. Heads up, final schedule posted on the intro post. I will also have a handout in your goodie bags so you won't have to remember all this stuff. If you could let me know by Friday if you are interested in the wine tasting, I will be able to get an approximate head count for them.

As of this posting, I will have a tech available on Friday, sponsored by RV's of Sacramento, available to do small checks, service items on your trailers. On Saturday, our tech from Safari RV will be available to do alignment checks (weather dependent) with our new Correct Track laser tool, and also other small service items. If you have small items that need to be addressed, you will be able to sign up both days to have them checked. If you already know you have parts that need to be replaced or a problem with an appliance (generic, like a furnace won't light, etc) please let me know ahead of time so we can make sure we have some parts available. While the labor is free, the parts are not, unless you are under warranty. Any warranty repair items need to go through RV's of Sacramento, although both techs can do documentation for you.

See you there!!!!

Thanks Rod and Donna for the kudos, but other than the phone calls, it's not a ton of work. The first one was, even with only 4 rigs, but after that, they get easier. I look at it this way. I just provide the opportunity to have fun. Wether you do or not, is up to you. :)
I'll confess, I'm not the most organized person on the face of the earth. That would be Kristy,(Ziggy) our OR chapter leader. And for attention to detail, that would be Teresa (TessaM), our Central CA leader. Luckily, they have helped me greatly for the other events. Yep, we really are one great big, happy family! At our events, I welcome feedback and help in any form. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Keep your fingers crossed that the weather man is wrong and we won't need all the easy-ups and tarps...LOL (We do have a club house to use in the event of rain.)

Hope the weatherman changes his forcast. It looks wet most of the week on the 10 day. Guess that means you should sign Karol and I up for wine tasting.

We were planning to be there today (Wednesday) but are stuck in Reno due to snow conditions on the 80. Should be able to get through tomorrow. :(

A huge thank you to each and every one that attended the Oroville Rally. It was a lot of fun and the rally wouldn't be possible without you. Special thanks to the KOA folks for taking such great care of us, and to my decorating "ninjas" that had all the decorating and wrapping work done in 20 minutes. :) Special thanks also to my husband for doing all the clean up while we Chapter Leaders had a little conference.
I'm especially glad to have caught up with old friends and met a bunch of new ones. It's the people who make the rally, and we have some wonderful folks here.
Drive safely to your next destination, and hope to see a bunch of you at National Rally inGillette and Canyonville OR, for the Pacific Regional. And don't forget The Central Rally in September.
Thanks again to all our attendees

Ray & Deb, you did a great job putting this rally together. It was a fantastic "First" rally for us. All of you "Heartlanders" were warm & friendly. The rain didn't dampen any of the spirits. We can now look forward to meeting our new friends further on down the road and at upcoming rallies.

Thank you again Deb, Ray, Mark, Kristy and all the others who made this a great experience. The KOA facilities were some of the best & cleanest we've used in our travels. Kudos to them for a well-maintained park.
