Just recently purchased a gently used Landmark Augusta 38, VIN 5SFBG37229E202252. Did this unit have an LP only water heater originally installed at the time of manufacture? I have not located a switch on the external access panel for the WH and when the internal ELE switch is on have no hot water. LP switch works fine.

There should be a switch on the water heater itself. Usually located upper left side near the pressure release valve. Ken

There is a little black switch located beside and behind the gas valve on the outside of the HWT it can be left on all the time. The red lighted switch at the control panel can be used then for the electric on/off. ALWAYS make sure you have water in the HWT before useing electric.

If you have the appropriate switched turned on, there is always the possibility that the electric heating element is burned out. This can occur very quickly if the Electric switch inside is turned on and there is no or insufficient water in the tank.

The black rocker switch on the outside face of the water heater may be obscured by the gas line. Normally, once it's flipped to the ON position, you don't need to turn it off again. The red "light" switch inside the coach will control the electric function.

Thanks all, I found the switch. It was in the lower left corner and upside down so that the on position was down.
