Electrical Management System (EMS) Hardwire Installation

I purchased the Progressive Industries EMS-HW50C for our BC. When it arrived Iread the instructions that were included and tried to read all the relative posts on the forum.

Maybe I just missed something, but everything I read seemed to lead one to cutting the power cord and placing the EMS in line. Looking at the space behind the wall in my front compartment that seemed like way to much work, if even possible. What I did instead was to remove the main panel and disconnected the main power feed. This allowed me to pull the input power supply into the compartment for an easier connection to the EMS. I then used a 5 foot section of #6/3/G wire to go from the EMS to the main circuit panel. The entire process took less than an hour to accomplish......It acutally took longer to unload the storage compartment than to do the install.

Hopefully the pictures explain the process. This was the easiest way that I could figure out to install an EMS.

Thats exactly the way to do it !! Sure is nice to work in the open, the only difference I did was to use 6-3wG SO cable its fine wire and very flexible.
