Has anyone had any experience with the Winegard GM-1518 Carryout Satellite being used with the new Directv H25 receiver that Direct is suppling to new subscribers? I found one article that stated to use the two together, you must purchase a SWM-8 switch, SWM power inserter, and a swm splitter. Anyone with knowledge about that you may have to purchase these additional items to make the system work?

The Winegard site says:
DIRECTV SWM Technology
Model SK-SWM3 SWM TRAV'LER antenna operates with DIRECTV SWM technology. Aside from the SWM TRAV'LER antenna, all other Winegard mobile satellite TV antennas operate with Multi-switch technology and require separate accessories to operate with DIRECTV Single Wire Multi-switch (SWM) only receivers. DIRECTV receiver models H25, HR34, and C31 are SWM only receivers and require a SWM-8 Multi-switch. The SWM-8 Multi-switch can be purchased through Winegard Company, part number SWM-840, by calling 866-609-9374.

Directv dishes with SWM LNBs also require the SWM Power Inserter. But perhaps the Winegard is already powered and doesn't need that device.

The GM-1518 uses a separate 12V power supply to operate the internal dish. Once it's locked in, the power supply can be turned off. Depending on the service, the internal DIP switches need to be set (you remove the dome) accordingly.

As far as I know, the 1518 will only work on Direct and Dish. It does not support HD TV.
