2012 Tundra 5.8 liter with tow package

Any one towing a North Trail 26lrss with a 2012 Tundra 5.8 liter w/tow package. How well does it perform in the mountains or do I need a bigger engine? I really don't want a diesel.
Thanks for any and all help with my decision.

Hey jerwin,
i had a 08 tundra 5.7, i towed a 28' northtrail & a sundance 27xlt 5th wheel. With no problems at all. Bought a 40' bighorn & went to a f350 diesel. Good luck.

I tow a Trail Runner 30" with my 08 Tundra no problems. Added brake controler, MS2 for tires and Firestone Airbags make a big difference.

That's more than enough power. Just let it rev up as needed. It will work fine. People were towing through the mountains back in the 40s and 50s with a lot less than that and they got by...Don
