ATF: Road Warrior - 305RW Bunk Stops

I have 2 questions.

1. For the stop pins, is it just a matter of drilling holes through the posts for the pins - so that additional stop points can be added?

2. When the top bunk is at its lowest point, it rests on four 'blocks' that are secured within the rails. We'd like to lower the blocks - any recommendations? The current blocks are secured into threaded holes in the rails.

The purpose of altering the stop points is to accommodate a child who is disabled - we want to use the top bunk as a change table (at standing height) - and also to allow stowage of bedding (pillows, blankets, etc.) between the bed and the ceiling during the day and while travelling.

Thanks for your help.
