Water flow questions?

I talked to a friend of mine this afternoon that is the Building Official of a city nearby. I was asking him about the Pex (Plex) water lines and how well they are being received in the building industry. He was telling me that they are the newest thing in plumbing lines, having been out about 7-8 years. The building codes allow their use if approved by the local code authority, and some cities allow them while some don't. He did say that they are probably the best for use in a trailer due to the flexing and movement of the trailer. They are not susceptible to freezing-as advertised-and should expand and contract with heat and cold.

My question is, has anyone experienced a loss of water pressure or flow? The brass fittings that are used are smaller than the lines themselves, so does this cause any noticable change in the water flow or pressure?

Thanks,

Jay
