Yellowstone National Park via Livingston MT

We highly recommend Yellowstones' Edge RV Park www.mtrv.com on Highway 89 South, south of Livingston MT and north of Gardiner MT which is at the North Entrance to Yellowstone. For those wishing to visit Yellowstone Park, the campground is only about 30 miles north of there, and right on the edge of the Yellowstone River in a nice large scenic valley with mountains all around. They have a beautiful Gameroom-Laundry-Bath House building and the washers and dryers look new. All the parks facilities appear to be kept neat and very clean, and the people managing/working it are great.
The location worked out great for our visits to the park. We toured the north "Grand Loop" with many scenic stops with a few hikes and spotting wildlife along the way. It took us less than one day for this route. The next day we toured the south "Grand Loop" doing the same and even had time to catch Old Faithful erupting. We again got back to the RV Park about 6 PM.
Leaving Yellowstone tomorrow morning and headed for Custer Battlefield Memorial, then on to the Mt. Rushmore area.

We visited yellowstone about two weeks ago and had a great time. If you get time the bear tooth hiway on the northwest side is really worth the trip. We stayed at Springcreek campground in Big timber Mt it is on the Boulder river. Hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did.

Beartooth Highway

We originally were going to try to go through the park with our fifth wheel via the north entrance and east on the Northern Loop to the Northeast Entrance after we were done seeing the park. Then on out via the Beartooth highway. They have been working on the road and we were advised it was dirt and rough. Also after we made the North Loop visit, I wasn't about to try to get a 34' fifth wheel through there !

It is a beautiful park and nice to see all the wildlife.

The best ways into the park are West Yellowstone or the south enterence. I would never take a trailer on the beartooth too steep of a grade

We also stayed at the same RV park this past June on our way to the Black Hills. It was very accommodating and clean. There was plenty of room for our 41 footer and what a view of the snow covered mountains in the morning! :)

Hi Guys..
I checked out the website. It looks like a nice place but $42 and $47 is a bit steep.

I guess if you have a short season as they do there you need to charge a bit more..

Did you go riding while up there? We are looking at this summer with our 3 quads..... Wondering what the regulations were to get to the fire trails.

Gonna cheat and pull it with an 07 Western Star with a 500 Detroit from Indiana, less than a tank and we will be there. None
