Anyone know of any must see places around Montana, Idaho, Wyoming or South/North Dakota. Going on a bike trip and need some scenery. Would prefer mountains/ trees but am open to suggestions. Just looking for any really neat places.

Also any highways that are ripped up or under construction would be appreciated.

We did a tour out there in the fall of '04 and all I can say is ride and enjoy.:D There is beauty around every curve. There is some info on our web site starting on Day 4 of our trip, http://www.goldenwingers.com/day_4.htm . If we think of any specifics, we'll let you know. When are you leaving and for how long?

We are leaving July 27 and returning Aug 13. Headed to Sturgis. We went in 2002 and went through Craters of the Moon, the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Cody and Crazyhorse/ Mount Rushmore. Father in law wants to break in his new Goldwing.

Below are some of the places that stand out in our memories, and you've already been to some of the others that are favorite memories for us.

For road closures you might want to check out this site. http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/trafficinfo/index.htm

Montana:
Glacier National Park - Going to the Sun Road (http://www.nps.gov/archive/glac/gtsr/advisory/index.html). That new wing will be elated with this ride!
Ricciardi's Italian Seafood & Finley Point Casino/Convenience Store/Bait Shop (http://ricciardis.com/), mile marker 6, highway 35, Polson, MT - Nice ride around the lake with a mountain view in the distance and yummy Italian food.
Missoula - If you find youself there, and you've never been to a Fuddruckers (http://www.fuddruckers.com/), treat yourself to a burger.

Wyoming:
Devil's Tower (http://www.wyomingtourism.org/cms/d/devils_tower_national_monument.php?cmp=KNC-WY07&HBX_PK=DevilsTowerGroup&HBX_OU=50)
Chief Joseph Scenic Byway to the Beartooth Highway and Beartooth Pass (http://www.beartoothhighway.com/). Beautiful scenery and a great road for "Dancing with Wings".

South Dakota:
Cattlemen's Steakhouse & Fish Market, 140 Mt. Rushmore Road, Custer, great food at good prices!

A big ditto on the road to the sun. We went several years ago. Sadly at the time, they were just finishing the tourist center at the top so there were delays. Also some good riding on the far east end of the same road down at the bottom. Take 89 south back to Hwy 2 for a nice day trip.

Been on the going to the sun road twice in car and three times on bike and never gets old. Although sometimes the pavement is lacking(when the road gave way).
