Fireplace Electrical Burning Smell

Fireplace working OK. No weird noises. After it's been on for a couple of minutes, we smell electrical burning. Turned it off and unplugged it.
Motor going bad?

The first time we used our fireplace, it also had an electrical smell just like when you turn on your furnace for the 1st time of the season. After it burned off the "new" smell, it's worked fine ever since. Still might want to have the dealer check it out.

Ours was doing that and then it was replaced and no odor. Never did find out what the smell was but it made me nervous.

We've used ours for 5 years & still get the occasional burning smell. We have found if we dust the light bulbs the smell goes away.
