Southco wireless keypad

I am having trouble changing the code. It works with the default code. The directions say to press the 9-0 pad for 3 seconds and a light will flash. Nothing happens when I do this. Any suggestions?

I find the little red lights that flash hard to see in daylight. I changed my code at dusk one time and in the dark another time. It helped see the red light when flashing.

Brian is correct. The lights are difficult to see in the daylight.
