Weight question

Can Bighorn 3400RL owners tell me what they weigh fully loaded ready to camp?

Pin weight would also be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Hi creeper,

While you wait on 3400 owners to "weigh-in" on your question, here's a link to a thread that has a table in it with many weights of Bighorns. Trouble is that model numbers are not listed in the table.

If you go to SEARCH and type in pin weight, there is a few threads on the 3400's and mixed in with other pin question's. I'm sure other 3400 owners will be here to post, soon. Good Luck.----Ken

While we were at the Rally in Goshen we had our 3400 weighed at the coop near by. The man was busy weighing trucks. This was my first time weighting so I did not know what I was doing. If you know how to do the math please let me know.
We loaded it before we left home to try to make it as realistic as possible.
I don't know if I my calculations are correct but hope this helps. Even with a 3500 I am over weight I believe! Please correct me if I am incorrect and anyone else JUMP IN!!!
I have in in excel but do not know how to attach it in the form I can if you want to contact me of form.
Here is the info pasted in.

THanks that helps alot.

I was trying to stay with a GMC 2500 and use a Hitch buddy to get around the pin weight issue, but since the Hitch Buddy weighs 1000k lbs that puts me at or over the GCWR of 22K.

I'm trying to avoid buying a dually GMC and I sure don't want to buy a F350 after having two Ford Lemons in a row.

Creeper, depending on the year of your 3400 the weights are a little different. The 08 is a bit heavier due to the change in the frame design. Ours is an 07. We are full time and are fairly well loaded. These weights include 2/3 fresh water but empty black & grey. Trailer Axles 11,600 and pin weight 2,800. Total would be 14,400. A bit over the trailers GVW but it's on the hitch so I;m not overly concerned. We upgraded to a 3500 Chevy in January because we were just too heavy for the 2500HD and didn't want to take any chances. On the other side of that, I have seen numerous 2500HD Chevys hauling trailers just as heavy and some even had auxilary fuel tanks in the bed... When we were hauling with the 2500HD it didn't feel bad but with the 3500 it feels MUCH better.
