Bighorn - eureka vac inlet

We purchased a used 2010 bighorn 3410 re with a eureka yellow jacket vac. I can't open the inlet below the stairs by the entry. The breaker is turned off and when I turn it on the unit runs and sucks in at the bottom. It looks like a door should open by swinging up as it looks like it has a hinge. It appears to be stuck so tight I'm afraid I will break it. Is there a trick to opening it?

Hi larrydee,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum and family. We have a great bunch of people here with lots of information and all willing to share their knowledge if needed.

I don't know how it works, but you should get an answer from someone that has the same soon.

Enjoy the forum and your Bighorn.

larrydee,

If it is sucking in when you hit it with power, then it's in "dust pan mode". Gently push down towards the floor on that wall connector.

Then, with it down, you can pry the cover out toward you, from the bottom (it's hinged at the top). One open, you can lift the round flap to insert the vacuum hose.
