extended warranty

Just purchased our first travel trailer a 2012 MPG 183 and wonder if an extended warranty is worth the extra cost ? We love our little travelling home but having just filled in the warranty registration forms for the fridge, TV, furnace, microwave etc. (many with extended warranty offers ) wonder about the possible troubles we might encounter with a new trailer that already has a 1 year bumper to bumper coverage ?

Lots of discussions on here about extended warranties. I wouldn't even consider one at least until your regular warranty is close to running out. You don't need one now while it's new. Don't let your dealer give you the hard sell. It's a huge profit item for them. Read them over thoroughly. Most of them don't cover very much and cost WAAAAY too much for what you're getting. You can extend most of the warranties on your appliances for a nominal fee from the manufacturers. If you must have an extended warranty keep in mind they almost never cover, leaks or cosmetic items. About the only one I would consider is from Good Sam...Don

Don is right. Get the Good Sam warranty, Forget the $1500 dollar one. We bought one 5 years ago and have never used it. Wasted $1400 that we are paying interest on. If you are handy with basic hand tools, you will be able to fix most things yourself. Trailers are NOT complicated.
