Water softner for tanks?

Hi There. We just purchased our new 2012 Torque 291 and I came across a blog awhile back that referenced putting water softner in your black tank, basically to keep waste from sticking to the sides and moving things along a little better. Anyone do this or heard of this? Thanks, Nina.

Hi Nina welcome to the forum.
Yes, many people use Calgon water softner in their tanks.
This is used along with Dawn dish detergent and mostly used for the black tank.
It is called the Geo Method. Google it.
Be sure to check out the Heartland Owners Club and Heartland Chapter Rallys. This can be found on the Portal Page.

Peace
Dave

Hi, I started using the calgon and Dawn in our system after studying the GEO method. In our Sundance when I done the first flush I was amazed watching the clear elbow, a little disgusting but amazing at the black that came out. Our new Big Horn I have used nothing but the GEO method and it works great. I still use chemical but will stop when I run out and just go straight GEO.
