Glad I checked into the forum and noticed all the new Rally dates. We will be putting it on our calendar and setting up Rally plans soon. We satyed at Rambling Pines during the MD Wine Festival a couple years ago. We were in site A7 and they were pretty close. We couldn't even open our awning. Looks like the Rally sites are better suited. Stay tuned and we wil let you know when we reserve!

Hello all... I am a new Heartland owner and we are wondering about the rally. I am looking at the dates and my wife needs to confirm her time off from work. It would be our first ever rally. Are they kid friendly? We have a 9 year old. We stay at Rambling Pines every Halloween with a group from church. Nice place and only about half hour from our home.

We have an Elkridge fifth wheel, and we live in Elkridge Md. Kinda cool...

Look forward to the reply and if we can make it we will book! Thanks, Mike

We always welcome you and your family to our rallies! Mike and Ann (Maryland Chapter Leaders) have put on some great rallies in their state. As you may have seen there are many nicknames floating about for members in the Northeast Region. A nickname is an honor and you will now be known as "Clumsy"! I hope you all have better luck at the Rally at Rambling Pines then I just did.

Long story short, my wife, who is a paramedic supervisor in a career Md. Fire Dept was assisting in a medical emergency at the campground this past weekend and was accosted and berated by the patients relative (not a legal guardian) and the owner who were insisting the patient need not go to the hospital. My wife, following Md. Law advised them that the minor needed to go unless a legal guardian or parent was to refuse services.

The ambulance came and took the child to the hospital as the Grandmother was not able to refuse services.

Now while all this was transpiring and the lifeguard and my wife were assisting the Pt., the lifeguard did not (as required under law) empty the pool until his attention could go back to those in it.

The owner accosted my wife and said "what sight are you in!" and implied like she was going to ask us to leave. The grandmother took my wife's information and threatened a complaint against her with her employer, to which my wife replied here is all of my information, as well as the numbers to call to complain and then left the pool.

With their lack luster approach to safety of people in their campground, they will never get another $$$ of mine!!

Enjoy!

Sorry to hear of you bad experience. Not to make excuses for anyone but maybe it was a rough day for Vivian and she did not think it though before she responded. I am glad that the child was taken to the hospital and checked out to make sure everything was okay. Our relationship with the campground thus far has been very cordial and they have been agreeable to our requests. Perhaps it would be appropriate to give the cg a second chance as we would love to meet you and have you attend our rally.

Had a great time in Goshen and brought something new back with us. SURPRISE! Looking forward to seeing all you guys when we get to Woodbine. If you are ordering T-shirts please include us; a Men's Medium and a Ladies Large. Also, will there be transportation available to the winery for the wine tasting? Thanks, Jean Strub

Unfortunately, we are going to cancel. Daughter talked us into a beach trip for her birthday, which is that weekend. We were looking forward to seeing everyone. Next year! We will be doing a VERY early pre-rally (by ourselves) over at Seashore Campsites, as they gave us the same site we will have for the NJ rally.

Karen Karen and Tom, We will miss you guys have fun at the beach and we will see you down the road.

Hi you two. Thanks for the offer about the tee shirt. "Flash" sez she prefers the mans shirt. We did have a great time in Goshen. We are now in WV for our annual high school reunion fun and foolishness. Don't know which is more fun..........a Heartland rally or the high school reunion......no matter it is a PARTY either way!!!!!!!!!!:cool:

I have a question. Are we really being charged $5 a day extra for children?
If I did my math correctly, we have 20 rigs staying for an average of 4 nights at $47 a night. Seems a bit much when bringing that amount of $$$ into the campground.

Personally, as far as our group is concerned, I'd rather us all pay the .25 or .50 a night instead of singling out our few HL'rs with children.

Or better yet no surcharge given the group size.

What bugs me is the campgrounds that allow two adults and two children per site, but charge extra for adult #3 when there are no children

Hey there MrMagoo. Believe me having to type in black is bugging me! For some reason our laptop has taken charge and will not let me change the color even though I choose otherwise. As I am definitely keyboard/computer challenged I have no clue as to how to make the silly thing change its mind. Advice as to a fix would be appreciated. Hope you two are well!

Hey Dick, you need to select "advanced" reply, where you can select color, as well as font, even underline, or italics. Quit blaming the tool, you know it is usually the operator. LOL

On a separate note, we unfortunately have to cancel attending the MD rally. It seems our farmer son (the one with chickens and cows and plenty of vegetables) has an obligation away from his home, so for that week we officially become "farmer's" in his stead:rolleyes:. We will miss all of you, but hopefully will catch up with you at the PA rally. I know we will be missing a great rally, but I am counting on you and others to Rally-On!!

Well it was just a few short years ago that Jim B said "hyperlink" and I had no clue what he was talking about.

We are on our weekend schedules so we stay up a bit later than usual. Besides I had to stay up past bedtime so I could get the full effect of the new LED awning lights John installed last weekend. Love them for sure!

We did some recalculating (reminds me of what our GPS says when we don't follow her instructions) and we will be providing fried chicken for the rally. We will still need our Heartland chefs to provide sides and dessert.

Please remember our Charity PapAdopters. When I was at Mercy Hospital last week (just for routine visit) Susan said they have several dogs requiring surgery so cash donations would be greatly appreciated. Susan will be joining us Saturday evening for dinner and will accept our donations then. She has repeatedly told me how grateful she is that we would support her cause. Looking forward to seeing everyone in

Michael and I are looking forward to seeing everyone. For those planning on going to the winery on Friday, we will be meeting near the parking lot area just past the office at 11:15 a.m. and will caravan from there to the winery (a little over 12 miles). I would recommend buddying-up and carpooling where possible just to make the caravan shorter.

Ed, thanks for asking. No blockage found (dodged a bullet there). However, my heart is "squeezing" too hard when it pumps. That causes the artery at the apex to get squeezed off occasionally creating a pseudo blockage. Not great news, but it can be controlled by adjusting my current Beta Blocker dosage and possibly adding another additional med, so I guess overall it is good news.
