ATF: Road Warrior - storage under master bed in RW305?

I am wondering why there is no storage under the master sliding bed of my 2011 RW305. Can anyone answer?
Is it because increased weight might hinder the sliding? Overall I have lots of storage compared to my last 5er so I am not complaining, just wondering.
Also I noticed in 2013 the same model RW305 has a GVWR of 15,500 not the 14,000 for the 2011 model year.
Can anyone tell me what was changed? I am assuming axles are the difference.

Hydraulics and slide out frame for the bedroom slide take up quite a bit of room

If you search the forums you'll see a mod for underbed storage - only about 6 inches, but cool.

Thank you very much, my wife will want me to add the under bed basket idea I think.
