Additional frame support

dieselengineer,
I know that Heartland has done this on some models due to lack of enough support in that area but I can't remember which ones.

I have not had any issues with the Bighorn on this yet but when we had our fleetwood, the shackles were longer and the springs were bolted on a little farther from the frame and it had bent those brackets. Its usually the backing up and turning to sharp I would assume that is doing the damage. Some additional bracing is a good idea even is just a diagonal gusset welded to the side.

Diesel;

I had the spring mounts on my Grand Canyon removed and reinstalled so that the axles were farther apart and some fairly heavy cross members installed between the spring mounts. I believe that I could go into a full sideways drift now without moving anything. This was a Lippert update for my unit.
