Spare Tire

I was doing my routine check of air pressure and lug torque today and remembered a post awhile back about the spare tire. I have never checked the spare air. DUH! So I crawl under and lo and behold the spare is right side up. Crap! I got it down and checked it and it was only a couple pounds low. Added a few #'s and put it back up with the valve stem down this time. A big plus for me is my new compresser is great. It's a Craftsman 2 gal. 1HP single tank 125psi. max. What a difference a gallon makes. I had a 1 gallon 100 psi Husky. This one's going into storage. Check your spares guys!!!

Ray;

I think if you read the instruction manual you will find that the valve stem is supposed to be up. I know that was what I read and the same goes for my car and previous trucks that had the spare mounted underneath. It is probably some engineers sadistic approach to having a good time - or- to keep something from hitting and damaging the valve stem.
