We are new to this forum. We just purchased an Elkridge and are considering joining the Owners Club. Is the $70 fee worth it? What are the rallys like? Thanks.

Hi Sandy,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum and Family. We have a great bunch of people here with lots of information and all willing to share their knowledge when needed.

The Heartland Owners Club has very good benefits and the rallies are wonderful. This is video by our club president which explains it really good.

You will make life long friends and eat the best food there is at a Heartland Owners rally.

Enjoy the forum and your new Elkridge.

Welcome to the Heartland Family and Heartland Owners Forum.
This is a great resource for information.
Some of the bennies of being a member of the Heartland Owners Club are that you can get 10% off on parts from Heartland, there will be no rally fee when attending a chapter rally and a discount for the North American Rally held annually.
We have attended 4 chapter rallies this year. That saved me $80 right there.
The east coast has plenty of fun rallies every year. I encourage you to attend some or as many as you can. You don't have to be a member to attend, but there will most likely be a fee.
You can read about some of the rallies by going to the 'Portal Page' and look at the right side of it. Just click on a rally.

Peace
Dave

One thing not mentioned is that $70 fee is good for three years.
Worth every penny to me.

Of course it's worth it. You can attend any Chapter rally anywhere in the country. Heartland Owners are like family. If you don't have fun at a Heartland rally you don't know how to have fun. Best of all you will make new friends with similar interests that you will look forward to seeing all year around...Some of the best money we ever spent...Don

If you get to regional or national rallies you will see a great return on your $70 above and beyond all of the other goodies cited in other posts. I have heard that Heartland gives the regional rally organizers a LARGE stipend much greater than the local chapter rallies get. I went to the Pacific Regional Rally last year in Sparks Nevada (with a friend) and we were given 2 Casino buffets (Worth $25 each), 2 Casino Show tickets (another $25 each), a $30 free prize, and Heartland supplied all of the meat items for our BarBCue potluck. At this year's Pacific Regional Rally in Canyonville, Oregon we got a catered casino buffet dinner, and $35 prizes. The Heartland supplied prizes at the national rally included a number of big screen TV's and valuable items. It took them 45 minutes to award all of the prizes there, in Gillette, Wyoming.

Also, As I put in my signature line, HOG dues support this great website.

Yes, I have gotten my $70 worth!!!

Another benifit is you get 10% off any parts you may need buy buyinf directly from Heartland. You bypass the dealer mark up. We also really enjoy the rallys.

It is worth it. I am still working and don't have a lot of time to spend on things that are a waste of time. I spend a lot of time on Club activities. We plan to attend rallies as often as we can and I spend time to plan and run the Oregon rallies. We have made some life long friends in the last five years and plan activities even outside RVing with them. Seventy dollars for three years is a bargain for what we get out of this club. For people who are retired and can travel during any season of the year (I can't since I teach), there are so many choices of things to do, especially back where you are, that you could just travel rally to rally pretty much all year. Nothing beats meeting people who have the same interests and seeing new places while still being able to sleep in your own bed every night.

I would have to say it is worth every penny. We are currently in Copake,NY at the 2012 Northeast Region Rally and having the time of our life with 34 rigs and hanging with 70 of our Heartland friends.
Tonight going to a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater at $30 a seat I got my money back!

Join the club and attend a rally - maybe Heartland will change your life too!

You can't put a price on long term friendships. When my husband and I joined we were looking to camp more than a couple of times in a year and now we are never home. We have also ended up with good friends for a lifetime. There isn't enough space to say what you get for your $70 dollars but if you love to laugh and want to have fun this is the place to be. We just got home from the NY Northeast Rally today and my cheeks still hurt from all the laughing we did and I have yet to go to a rally that wasn't a blast. When a rally ends we all hate to go home and can't wait until the next one to be together again. We have also gotten together during the off seasons too. So when you ask is it worth it I guess it all depends on what you are looking for in the $70. For me it was totally worth it and more. I think you will find it will be well worth the $70 dollars. Good luck in your decision.

I just renewed my membership for another 2 years. I would have done more but that is all they would let me renew for. We don't get to travel as much as most because I am still working, but we have made some wonderful friends and we have had a blast at every event we have attended with our fellow Heartlanders. it is definately worth the price.

How much is it to renew? I also lost the plaque off the ladder and wanted another.

Initial Membership cost: $70 (US shipping) or $90 (Canada shipping) - covers 3 years
Renewal: 1 year = $10 or 2 years = $18

To purchase a replacement plaque or frame or parts, contact our supplier, PLAK-R at (866) 427-5257

I belong to 8 clubs (ATV, snowmobile, motorcycle) with Heartland being the only camping club. Heartland is the only club that doesn't require meeting attendance, work parties, fund raisers, raffle tickets, political involvement, etc. etc. to maintain membership. The cost of belonging is more than offset by the great people you will meet and make lifetime friends with. The list of additional benefits of the Heartland Club would take more space than I'm allowed here--join, it's the deal of a lifetime--you will be glad you did!

Just joined and will experience my first rally starting tonight here in Hattiesburg MS with the MS/AL group. Chapter Leaders Hogan and Donna Cooper stopped by the other day and asked if we were intersted in joining them for there rally I didn't know was going on here in the same park we are camped in. Paul Johnson State park. Beautiful park I might add also. So in turn I went to the Heartland web site and became a member. something I have been going to do but never did, just needed a little push I guess. So here we go!

Looking forward to the meet n greet this evening.

Have a good day all, and most of all have fun, life is short!!
