Hmmm, our photo doesn't show up in my posts, nor does my signature. Oh well, you don't need to see us anyway, do you?

We bought our truck in April and for the past few months have been looking for our trailer. I think that we've found it in a 2013 Landmark San Antonio. It looks like we'll be getting our financing soon but, they won't loan on a coach ordered from the factory. The coach we found was in Sacramento but, it didn't have dual pane windows. The solution they came up with was to order one from the factory the way we wanted but, now it seems we can't do that and we're casting our net wider. Maybe by Thanksgiving we'll be in our new home.

We're east of Chico, CA, up in the foothills. My spouse, Trish, has about 3 more years before we can leave and be on the road fulltime. I have to say that it's getting harder and harder to stay here and to not just take off. I'd say that once she's done working we'll be like a couple of horses let out of the barn in Springtime but, we already have plans to sit up on the Oregon Coast for a month just to get used to the idea of not having to rush around and be somewhere. Maybe after a month spent that way we'll be ready to mosey on.

Hi Raquel,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum. You'll find a lot of useful information here along with a great bunch of people who are willing to share their knowledge and experience. Having been there, I'm sure we can all understand the excitement you're feeling.

If you have any questions, feel free to jump in and post.

Keep working with the dealer. Maybe they can order your rig for their lot stock, and you can do the financing when it arrives.

The Northern California Chapter of the Owner's Group usually has their annual rally in April at the Feather Falls Casino KOA. You can even attend as non-owners with a $20 fee (each) if you are not HOG members. But you could just pay the $70 per couple for 3 years fee instead. I'm pretty sure you can join, even if you don't own a Heartland yet.

Best wishes and happy (future) RVing!!!

P.S. If you love the Oregon Coast, There is a Rally at Winchester Bay in Reedsport next June. Reservations have to made early!!! See the announcement in the rallies section on the right side of the portal page.

The Pomona RV Show opens this Friday. The Heartland dealer is Giant RV. You might want to give them a call and see if they will have one at the show. We bought our Rushmore from them last year. I realize it is a little ways for you but it is worth a try.

We both grew up in the Portland area and both loved the coast, which was only an hour to hour and a half away. We still have family in the Portland area and usually try to squeeze in a few days at the coast whenever we go up there. We'll have to give that rally in Reedsport some thought!

Please do consider the OR rally next year. I don't understand the dealer and financing issues you are having. We just ordered our second HL and we financed both times. As soon as the dealer got a VIN from the factory, they started the paperwork with the bank so everything was ready when our rig arrived. All the paperwork including loan signatures was done this last time before our new trailer arrived. I didn't even have to go over to sign anything to pick it up.

We ordered our rigs because we wanted them exactly to our specs. There is no sense paying for something you know you won't be happy with. If your dealer can't arrange financing on an ordered rig, I would be looking pretty closely at that dealer and/ or the banks they use. You can always prearranged your financing yourself and deny the dealer the % they make from their banks

Good Luck. Feel free to PM if you want to talk to another dealer in our area or have questions.

I think your lender stinks, and you need to find another one.

Financing on a brand new rig should be a piece of cake, no different than one sitting on a dealer lot.

Give your dealer a deposit to place the order with the mfr, and once you get a VIN, start the financing process.

Take my word for this -- get the rig you want the first time, don't compromise, it's worth the effort to do it right and get what you really want/need.
