Towing with 300C - Chevy 3500HD

Hi all,

We just ordered a new Heartland 300C Cyclone 5th wheel and have a 2013 Chevy 3500HD to tow it with. My husband is worried about the 6' truck bed (that we have) vs. long bed. Everyone we have talked to seems to think this is fine with the over the cab design and with an optional slider hitch.

Any feedback?

Thank you in advance!

You'll do fine with it. We've got the 2500 HD with the Cyclone 3010 and basically the same nose. We have that bed and have no problems at all. Some people say to get the slider hitch, but from what I've read most don't use it after they get it. I've never needed it where we've been.

The 300c and 370C is designed for a short bed without a slider hitch.

I have a 300c and it has done great being towed with a Dodge Mega Cab. It had a 6.5ft bed.

Oh, get rid of the Townax tires. I blew one with about 1000miles on the trailer and it was empty when it happened.

Thanks! Do you like the 300C?

Great trailer. We still have some of the "New Issues" to work out. Which is expected. But I just found out today that Heartland is covering all of the damages created by the blown tire. Very excited about that.
