WOW - that's impressive. Been across SD several times and run into high winds but not like that. WOW!

In that linked article there is a pic of a 5ver on its side - SOB. But it looks like it was unhooked and just sitting there when it was blown over - the landing legs are extended......

One picture caught something that looks very suspicious in the background... like a pseudo-tornado??

I heard from a snowbird neighbour of mine that there's a section of highway in California that trucks and RVs are not supposed to ever drive because of the high likelihood of being blown over. Anyone know if that's true?

Yes it is very true. Starting within a couple of weeks they are called the Santa Ana winds. Extremely bad. Sometimes it looks like the pictures that were posted for South Dakota. Driving up the 14 hwy and the 10 out to the desert and beyond. They are not fun. Some years they aren't so bad, some years they are really bad.
