Can anyone help me figure out how to fix a portion of the floor that feels like you are stepping on a sponge? The area is about the size of an 18" square at the base of the stairway leading into the kitchen. Thank you.

Hello Dianepat729 and welcome to the forum. There is a lot of great information here.
You have a 3585 correct? What year is it? Your problem may be a warranty claim.
That is a laminated floor and I cannot think of any reason it should be soft.
Have you looked around for any water leaks? Maybe pull the bottom drawer out from the stairs and take a look.
