Re: Pennsylvania camping

Pennsylvania is rich in camping spots and there are a lot of state parks available for a great rate. Check out the state parks off of Rt 81 in Cumberland County...Col. Denning and Pine Grove Furnace State Pks. Pine Grove has 2 lakes with beaches and there is a rail trail that goes between them which makes for great bike riding. You could spend an entire season just camping in Pennsylvania.... another one we liked was Hills Creek State Park close to the NY border. Great lake and you can put a non-motorized boat in there.

Re: Pennsylvania camping

Nice!
It's been eons but we camped at Prince Gallitzen SP once for an extended family campout. The "no alcohol" rule keeps the roudies in check.
Our first campout of the season is usually at one of the Allegheny National Forest cg's near Bradford.
BTW - I was born in Johnstown and we still have family scattered around the area. My dad was born in Somerset.

Kooser SP near Somerset, PA is a nice little CG. That was our layover on our trip from MI to Washington DC this past May 2013.
