How to adjust length of the wood blinds?

We have a BC2950RK with the wood blinds (very nice), however 2 of them are way too long for the window (behind the sofa and the J-Sofa). The dealer says the correct ones were fitted and 'that's the way they are'.
Does anyone know of a way to shorten the blinds, we probably need to take out about 10 slats to get the correct length. The way they are, they are very heavy and quite difficult to raise.
Thanks,

If they are anything like other blinds, the lower base rail blind needs to be removed and then you can take out as many slats as needed to get to your desired length. You then cut the excess cord and reassemble the lower rail. You could try ehow.com. just enter "adjusting wooden blinds".

Thanks for tips. Sure enough the eHow guy shows how to do it, will give it a go next weekend. Then, when I mess up, we'll look at the vertical blinds :)
