furnace acting weird

Everything was good with our furnace until a couple of days ago. It runs normal for about 5 minutes, fan at full force and plenty of heat. Then after that the fan starts to slow down to the point where it's blowing hardly any air, although the heat at the registers itself seems to be fine. The furnace also seems to be noisier after the 5 minutes. Any ideas what we can check for to hopefully fix it ourselves, maybe avoid having to call for service again? Thanks, guys!

Check your Battery connections and 12 volt power supply to Heater as the Heater Fan operates on 12 volts. Good Luck...

I think it would help to try and figure out if the problem is that the blower motor is actually turning slower, or if the airflow through to the vents is slowing down. Maybe if you stand outside next to the furnace, you'll be able to hear the blower operation.

If the blower sounds normal, I'd take down the basement wall by the UDC to examine the ducts. Maybe something is loose, detached, damaged, or crimped.

If the blower sounds like it's slowing down and speeding up, you may have an intermittent in the 12V wiring. Check for loose connections at the furnace.

Jimmy's suggestion about battery is also good especially if you're boondocking. If you're on Shore Power, check that the battery voltage is around 13.4V DC. If it's lower than 12V, you may have a problem with the Power Converter. Even if the battery is going bad, there should be enough 12V power coming off the Converter to keep the furnace running ok. If you suspect more general 12V problems, this document from the manuals section of the Forum may help.
