Hi to all
Thanks for all the replies.
The date has been changed so no more "1970" clothes required. I am working on the sign up sheet and it will be posted soon. We really think that this will be a great location fo a rally.

Thanks again for all the early replies.

Hi all, Doug and Doris Anderson from Washougal, WA plan to join you in Temecula. We have yet to see our Bighorn 3370RK that we ordered in February but it should be arriving in the next few weeks. We are looking forward meeting all of you and to conversations with other Heartland owners as we get used to our new rig.

We plan to arrive on the ninth and depart on the 14th. (We have a daughter and her husband a four kids only a couple miles from Pechanga.) Let us know if we need to contact the RV resort directly for an additional night. Thanks.

John, are saying no SOB's?? I thought that was only the National rally.

Bob,

We don't generally allow SOBs for the Regionals. We treat the regional rallies different than the chapter rallies in terms of budget. I allocate a large amount of money for the regional rallies on a per-rig basis.

Using 2012 as an example, we had a fabulous time at Seven Feathers in Oregon at the Regional. It cost a lot to put it on. I want the funds spent to benefit Heartland owners as a thank you. This is our special time. SOBs would blush at the amount we'd have to ask them to pony up to come to these ($100 to $125).

SOBs are still fully welcomed with Chapter Leader approval at local Chapter rallies. Reason for this is that I feel it's a good reach-out opportunity to show other brand owners the fun we have, what we're like and a chance to see our RVs. Some of them actually do end up buying a Heartland later.

Any chance there will be a vendor to provide weighing of individual wheel loads?

We just weighed our Bighorn at a local CAT scale and found we were within limits for both the TV and the fifth wheel, but barely, with a GCW of 22660 and a 3080 calculated hitch weight. I just didn't get the individual loads on the fifth wheel axles and the scale is not set up to be able to weigh individual wheels.

Mizmary,
Safety first, above all.
However, it's unlikly that there will be a rally (much less a regional rally), any closer to where you are.
About 60 miles, by my count.
You should really try to make it if at all possible.
These gatherings are always a great time, with great people. Trace

Sonja and I are looking forward to the rally. We are camping newbies and have never done this rally thing before. Since this happens to be in a wonderful southern California wine region, is there time to hit the wineries? If so, who all is interested. We are members at 3, but have been to many of them. We would be willing to be tour guides for anyone who would like to go (time permitting).

Can't wait till October.

Bob&Patty

Wonder if I stack my kids under a trench coat if they'll let them in at the winery? 😝

I think next time grandparents are in town that's going to be our date. We,too are looking forward to it. It will be good to get this rig moving. Ill have to make sure to schedule the boys to come out and give her a bath and wax before we head up!!

Mizmary,

I know that almost all of the wineries allow kids. I also know there is not much for kids to do at wineries, but they are welcome. We have seen may people bring them along. As long as they are well behaved, nobody minds it. The wineries we go to are also dog friendly, so our 2 Labradors join us.

I know the feeling of betting the rig moving. we have had it over a month and still not really gone anywhere yet. We just book San Diego Metro KOA for our first trip on the 16th of Aug.

Wow - 2 more toyhauler owners coming to the Regional Rally - excellent! See you both there.

Is there still room? I got locked out of the Jackson Central California Rally because they ran out of room. I may stay at a park nearby Jackson and visit during the day during the rally.

As far as I know, I am OK for Temecula, but I have LOW's events in Northern California 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after the Jackson event, so I am torn about the 1000 mile round trip to the Temecula rally.

Hi every one
I have been asked by some of the members if we could have a potluck at the Regional Rally. The night that we could do this is friday at the meet and greet. What do you think?
Thanks.

I think the potluck is Friday night at the meet and greet? I just don't think the change got put onto the original post? See posts 19-23. The question was originally posted by Jim, who is planning the deal. He's just been pretty busy, from what I can tell. 😊

I am planning on bringing something.

For any of you Thousand Trails Members - There is a 500 space Thousand Trails Preserve in Menefee (Wilderness Lakes) about 20 miles from Temecula/Pechanga for pre or post rally stays. I think I will be there for a few weeks after the rally. I am presently at the Russian River Preserve, about 30 miles North of Santa Rosa. This is my first TT stay, and although I had some space finding problems, I REALLY liked the bill for $0 a night!!!

For the extra nights that we will be there: Sunday October 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th, they provided us the Passport America Rate of $22.50 per night. They were able to put us into our Rally assigned site for the entire duration, so we do not have to move.

If you travel from the KOA north on I-805 and merge onto the I-15 it will take you all the way to Pachenga in Temecula. I can met you on the I-15 just north of the I-8. Nancy and I arrived here yesterday (Wed). We don't have our RV this trip. We flew into San Diego and drove up. Did our laundry at the CG when we got here, then had dinner out with John and Lori. Also spent some time with Tom and Lorraine at their Sundance.

Today, Nancy and I drove up to Moreno Valley to have lunch at our beloved Portillo's Hot Dogs :) We're nuts - I know :)

We're in Old Town Temecula this afternoon, checking out all the shops.

We may come back here for dinner tonight.

Having a nice time in the area. Yesterday (Thu), Nancy and I drove north for Chicago-style food! :)

Then we visited Old Town Temecula, walking main street and visiting all the local shops. Then we stopped at the RV park and visited with a large group of Heartlanders. It began to get chilly, then some went indoors to make dinner.

Nancy and I went out to dinner to a local Mexican restaurant called Lucy's. It's one of Bob & Patty's favorites. Bob and Patty came with as did Trace and Terry and one other couple (whose name escapes me - sorry).

After dinner, we donated to the local indian economy.

Yesterday, I spent time in the campground meeting even more Heartlanders here for the rally, answering questions, crawling under RVs and looking at the Landmark Key Largo that Giant RV brought out.

After lunch, Nancy and I went to see the movie Captain Phillips. Great flick!

At 5pm all rally attendees met at the club house for the meet-n-greet. Snacks? I'd say "heavy appetizers" or what most of us called "dinner" :) John and Lori gave out some fabulous door prizes too. Fun times.

Tonight, the club is taking all attendees out to dinner at the casino buffet. Yum!

27021Regional Rally is over, but Chuck and Donna, Dan and Sally, John and Lori, and Scott and Roxann had a campout at the Bakersfield RV Resort. Great new friends. John and Lori...thank you for putting such a great Regional Rally on in Temecula.....and thank you asking us to attend.

Thank you John & Lori for another fantabulous rally. Matt and I had a great time. Loved meeting new people and visiting with "old friends". Thanks to everyone for their patience with Crazy Daisy, you are all awesome! Hope to see you all at the next one.

John and Lori, we just wanted to say Thank You for another great rally. We enjoyed our time in southern California and met some new Heartland friends while catching up with some old friends. Thanks for all of your hard work. The buffet was outstanding and so much good food at the meet and greet. Thanks to Heartland for all the raffle prizes. We are looking forward to the next rally.

Pat and I had a great time. John and Lori did a great job on this rally. It was good to see JB and Nancy again. Good to see old friends and meet new ones. See some of you in Quartize in January. OBTW, Callie met alot of new friends also. I'm just glad people dont meet new friends the way dogs do.
