Trailer loading

I have a 2003 27 ft Rockwood trailer and the litterature that came with it shows the following:

Unit dry weight 3742 lbs
Cargo carrying capacity 3624 lbs
Axle weight 3351 lbs
GVWR 6391 lbs

When I look at these figures I can't help feeling that someting is not right. To me, the sum of the unit dry weight and the cargo carrying capacity should not be over the GVWR of the trailer. If I add these two figures, I get 7366 lbs which is 975 lbs over the GVWR.

In practice, I carry only about half the cargo weight allowed so my GVWR is never over the permitted figure. But I still would like to know if the figures above are in error or if it is that I just don't understand how to use them.

Can anyone please clarify this for me.

The way to get the GVWR is to find out what size axles they are using add them up and then add the Hitch weight and that's the GVWR.
