OK so my little fuel lie-o-meter and temperature/compass dealie went out not too long ago. I haven't worried too much about it as I never really paid it much mind but I got to thinking about it and replacing it thinking I may sell or trade the truck in for a 350 later this summer. So I did a little research and thought I would tackle it myself as a common problem is the chips coming off the main board for the display.

So down comes the console and out comes the board.

Lucky for me I was paying attention as one of the chips fell out and onto the floor.

Thanks guys, I figured I didn't have much to lose, it wasn't working before, and worse case scenario, it wouldn't have worked after...

Looks great, FiremanBill! That's a known problem with that console. Malcolm had to repair ours on our 2002 F350. It was doing the exact same thing.....not working.
