Generator door

When running the generator should the door be open or does it matter? I am talking about dry camping and having it run for a few hours.

Thanks

If you're talking about the factory supplied built-in generator, it's designed to run for the gen door closed.

The actual gen "cover" or "door" stays on as that is the path of air flow for cooling.

If you are referring to the bay door on the camper itself, I will open the door but not prop it open, just to let the heat escape from the trailer.
If we were using the genny in cold weather I would leave the door close to take advantage of that extra heat.

Yes I was referring to the one that comes with the trailer. Good call on winter use to provide extra heat.

Thank you,

Scott
