ATF: ElkRidge - Pin Box Bolts

We just received delivery of our new 2014 37 Ultimate yesterday! What a beauty!

My question is, In the generic supplied owners manual it says

" ** Retighten the pinbox bolts every 50 miles for the first 500 miles"

Now this may be a silly question but here it goes....

Shouldn't the delivery driver from Elkhardt IN. have done this enroute to my dealer here in VA? That journey in itself is over 600 miles.

Also what are the torque specifications?

Thanks in advance,

Mark

And the instructions for my 5th Airborne shows 90 ft-lbs for 1/2" grade 5 bolts, 150 for 5/8" bolts, and 275 for 3/4" bolts.

Factory people monitor the forum, but may not see very post/thread. Best to call Heartland Customer Service at 877-262-8032. Have your VIN # ready. They should be able to answer your questions.

We have a 2011 Elk Ridge 27RLSS, I don't remember where I got this info, but...here is what I do. I may have gotten it from the manuel or possibly from Lippert, or from Heartland. But then again, the "voices" might have told me to do this!

  • KING PIN BOX Tighten the 4 bolts to 90-110ft lbs. 15/16 socket Cowling must be removed.
