Genesis 2.0 Surround Sound

Probably a dumb question BUT...

We have the BC 3690SL with the Genesis 2.0 and the Toshiba TV in the living room. How do we get the TV to play through the surround sound? Do we need to connect the GT2.0 to the TV or is it already connected? The Radio works, but we can't figure out how to get the TV to play through the surround sound.

Thanks!

Hi lisantodd,

Not a dumb question at all. You need to add a cable to connect the TV's audio output to the Genesis input. The Genesis has both types of digital audio inputs and your TV will likely have one or both outputs to match.

We have an owner-written RV Audio Connections Illustrated guide that illustrates what the connections look like and what the cables look like, with links to an inexpensive source of cables.

You'll have to remove the front bezel of the Genesis to unscrew it from the cabinet/wall so you can get to the connectors on the back. And of course you'll need to also get to the back of the TV.

After the cable is in place, you may need to set the TV audio menu to support audio out.

Ok we did it (or I should say Joe did it). There are two vertical plastic ends (a bit over an inch wide) - these need to come off - each has a hole that you can put a small tool in to lift these off - behind these are the screws to take out the unit.

I have the same problem, How do you get the front bezel off the genesis-2 in order to put in another cable.
