Been researching the forum for any ways to improve our vastly overpriced OEM nav systems to make them more Rv useful. For instance would it not be nice to download low clearance bridge info? Truckstop locater info? Anybody?

If you want to download low clearances for your current GPS, a quick search on Google for "Low Clearance POI" gets this link. (http://www.lowclearances.com/)

Probably a little harder to work with, but if you want to save the $15, try POI-Factory (http://www.poi-factory.com/node/2002).

If you get tired of trying to manage POIs, you can get a Garmin DEZL with lifetime maps and traffic info for <$300 now. It keeps you away from routes that have clearances lower than the height you set for your rig.

Thhanks Dan. So far as I can tell the lowclearance.com software is not compatible with OEM nav systems, only with aftermarket GPS units and map apps.
