Picking up new 5er what basic accessories needed?

A month from today we will be picking up our new Key Largo. What accessories should we have from the start? The dealer will provide a 'starter kit' of a sewer hose, slip disc for the 5er, 50 to 30 amp plug, and we have a water hose and pressure regulator. We have the full timers package which will include a surge protector. We have a digital multimeter, socket tester and voltage detector. We haven't decided about leveling blocks vs. just pieces of wood. We will eventually hit the road full-time in September, and do work camping. Looking forward to our new adventures, and meeting other Heartland owners! We have enjoyed reading and learning from the forums.

Congratulations! Sounds like you have a good start. The hose coming with your starter kit is likely not the highest quality. I would replace it with a Rhino or something similar with an extension hose just in case. Also consider a TPMS Other stuff includes basic tool kit with sockets wrenches and screw drivers, fuses, rescue tape and tools to change a tire.

I'm sure you'll get plenty of other great suggestions.

Fuses of all types used in your coach. It's no fun to wake up cold in the middle of the night many miles from a store due to a blown fuse. Easily overlooked but man when you need them....you need them.

And even stores that carry fuse may be out or do not even carry the right size. It took awhile to find a place that carries 40 Amp auto style fuses so that I could have a spare one....

Thanks for the advice. Never thought about the fuses, and we will check into the bed saver. Lot's to learn, but looking forward to moving on to a new chapter in our lives!
