G'day to all.

We apologize for being so late in putting up these pictures but as the saying goes “better late than never”.

As some of you are aware, following the Goshen Rally, we headed down to visit the southern States that included Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, & Tennessee. We are finally home after spending five weeks on the road. Our trip was not without incident or excitement. During the last 10 days or so, we had flash flood watches & warnings along with numerous severe thunderstorm warnings. The day we were in the Cleveland area, the county we were in had a tornado warning. Fortunately the alarms did not go off and we did not have to move to a shelter. Scary stuff, I tell you! We were mentally exhausted and were glad to get home.

We had a fantastic time on the trip! Some of the highlights included the Grounds Tour at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Anheuser-Busch Brewery tour in St. Louis, (those Clydesdales are majestic animals), the “Big Peach” in Clanton, Alabama (and yes, their peaches are huge – the size of grapefruits), and the Neil Armstrong Space Museum in Wapakoneta, Ohio.

We did the comprehensive city tour in New Orleans post Katrina, stopped for beignets at Café du Monde, walked the French Quarter and took the Steamboat Natchez along the Mississippi River. Of course no visit to Louisiana is complete without a swamp tour. We saw a lot of alligators and all were addicted to marshmallows!

For those who attended the International Rally in Nashville, you will recall the entertainer “Steve Hall & the Shotgun Red Show” who performed at the rally. He is performing on the General Jackson Showboat lunch cruise and is even better than before!

We finally got to see the Grand Ole Opry. (As many of you will recall, the Opry was flooded three years ago and the show was moved to the Ryman Auditorium) The Back Stage tour was awesome! We attended the show on the Saturday evening which included performers Connie Smith, George Hamilton and Carrie Underwood. Needless to say, Carrie stole the show!

Back to the posted photos – there are some good ones and some, well, lesson learned. Always take 2 pictures in the event one is blurred, etc. We aim to do better next time and plan on a “Group” photo at the next rally! Here is the link:
