View Full Version : Adding windows to Wilderness 2175 RB Slide-Out

I recently purchased a new 2014 Wilderness 2175 RB. I would like more natural lighting in the dinette slide-out unit.

My quesiton is, can windows be added to the front and back panels (walls) of the slide-out similar to the Wilderness 2750 RL in the photo below?

I'm guessing this is a fixed (non-opening) window. That's OK with me. I'm just looking for additional natural light.

Maybe I can buy two of these window assemblies from dealer parts dept., cut holes to size and clamp and seal the windows in place.

I had posted additional information from the dealer about this modification in another post. It was deleted by the moderator as a duplicate post.

The additional info is that the slide out walls for the 2750 RL have interior metal bracing to make up for the loss of strength due to the window cut-out.
It is not possible to re-build the side walls of my 2175 RB to compensate for the loss of strength if I were to cut out the holes for the 2750 RL windows as shown.

What I thought was a good idea has been shot down in flames. :(
