Additional Info:
------------------------------
Please do not ask for the RV Park when making reservations. Tell the reservation person you get that you are attending the Heartland Rally to get the special rate. I have negotiated the rate for 7/10 - 7/14 so people have an extra day on either side of the rally at that rate.

Reservations for the rally at this site fee must be made by June 27, 2014. After that, the sites revert back to the park and to the regular rate. Reservations will then be on a first come-first serve basis.

Clarification: If you plan to stay for the Jamboree, you will need to pay for those tickets when you make your rally reservations. That will keep you in the same site through both events.

4/4/2014 For those who have already made rally reservations - you need to call NOW (by the middle of April) to pay for your Jamboree tickets to keep your site and guarantee tickets for the Jamboree will be available.

Oregon Jamboree: (not an HL event)

The Oregon RV Jamboree will be taking place after our rally. It is a separate event with its own fees. You should be able to stay in the same site through that event if you sign up for the rally and Jamboree at the same time before the park fills up. It will fill up, so don't wait too long. If you get someone who doesn't know about our rally and the arrangement we have to keep our sites through the Jamboree, ask to speak to another reservation specialist. They have a couple of new people on the desk.

Call the Reservation Number to let them know if you plan to stay for the Jamboree and pay for your tickets.

Here is the 2014 Oregon RV Jamboree Brochure as supplied by the Mill Casino and RV Park. It is a tri-fold front and back brochure if that helps make sense out of it. There is some basic info on the Mill website as well.

Rally Activities (so far)

Rally Sweatshirts
(order to be placed in May)
Found out that hooded sweatshirts will be $30 each ($33 for 2XL and $34 for 3XL) to cover my cost plus shipping from Martin Marketing. They are the people who do all of Heartland's signature apparel. We will be going with blue for the color and men's sizes. I have to take orders and pre-payment from people before I place my order with Brad at Martin Marketing.

Please email me at kristy @ crownz4.com (remove the spaces before and after the @) with your order including sizes. I will return your email and include my mailing address so you can send me a check to cover your order.

Boat Tour of Coos Bay 1 PM (arrive at 12:30 for check-in) We will have a shuttle for 24 leaving the park at NOON. If we have more than 24 people we will arrange carpooling.
Its about 2 hours long, leaves from Charleston (30 min from the park) and will be $30 per person. We need to have at least 20 people to reserve the boat.

Post, PM or email me with your wish to participate in the boat tour.

Potluck(s)

  • We will do an appetizer potluck Friday night.
  • Porter's RV in Coos Bay will be sponsoring the meats for Saturday's potluck dinner. We have arranged for The Mill to cater smoked tri tip and smoked roasted chicken. The other dishes are potluck.
  • People were so happy with our breakfast burrito farewell last year, we are going to try to do it again this year.

New!!!

After finding that we will not be needing main course dishes for the potluck, I think we can split up the sides and desserts to make sure we are covered for both. Please plan your dish to serve at least 8-10 people.

So -
If your last name is A through L please bring a salad or vegetable dish to share.
If your last name is from M through Z please bring a dessert
.

Please bring a $15-$20 prize to donate in the traditional rally raffle. We will do this Sat. Night after dinner. Tickets will be sold Sat. For $1 each or 6 for $5 from Mark.

FINALLY! The contract is ready and submitted so we can get going on this.

Mark and I will be arriving the 9th and leaving after the Oregon RV Jamboree that will be the next weekend. We went to the Jamboree last summer as a way to check out the park and its event staff. We had a fantastic time and the fee for that event was well worth it. That's why we decided to back up our rally to that one. We have been promised that people who attend both events will not have to move sites. Most of the park is held for the Jamboree as soon as our rally is over and I didn't want people to have to pack up and move if they were going to stay for the Jamboree anyway.

DO NOT ask for the RV park to make your reservations. We need to go through the regular reservation dept instead of the RV park. Be sure to ask for the Heartland Rally.

We have taken into account the results of the poll I sent out earlier and are planning some things people were interested in doing while at the rally or in the days following while we are waiting for the Jamboree to start. We will announce all that stuff a little later.

We are also joining forces with Washington and planning a caravan from our rally and the Jamboree to the Washington rally via Maryhill State Park. That park is just over the WA border where Hwy 97 crosses the Columbia. Be sure to make your WA rally reservations! Rod and I will keep you up to date on all of that. We do know that the caravan will be arriving at the WA rally site on the Wed. (7/23) before that rally starts.

We have had some fun rallies at Winchester Bay, but this is going to be fun too. It will just be a different kind of fun!

I know Kristy's notice said to wait a couple days, but when I called for info today, they booked us and took our reservation request. We are coming in for the Heartland Rally on the 10th and staying through the 20th for the Oregon Jamboree. From there we are heading north to Maryhill State Park for a couple days (20th - 23rd) en route to the Washington Rally in Deer Park (Spokane). Hopefully we can get a few of us together for this roadtrip and have a Heartland Caravan! We are so excited for this!

Glad they are set up and ready to take reservations. Now I have to find some time to make ours! I have conferences until late this week so I haven't called yet. I also want to see what day the Jamboree ends. I don't want to miss out on the big prize drawings they have the last morning.

Hey Rod, which space are you in? Is there a certain block of spaces set aside for us? We think this will be a great venue for the 2014 Oregon Rally.

They don't assign spaces. You just let them know that you're with the Heartland owners club and if you're staying for the Jamboree you let him know that you're staying for that as well.

We think it's a great venue too. Going to be a blast!

Our block of spaces is on the end with the number 25. That will be our space and they are holding that corner space for us too. That will be our party space where we can put your fire pit even though they don't usually allow fires outside their's up by the yurt. The yurt is ours through the weekend and they will set up tables outside of it too. The grill is also ours for the weekend if we want it.

They are trying to get enough tables to put in all of our sites. The sites are not all that big though so we might only want them in the party site. I'm trying to get them to make a private temporary dog area at our end of the park too. We will see how that goes.

Guaranty RV will be starting to bring in their RVs while we are there since they are part of the Jamboree. I will be asking to talk to them once their contract is signed with the Mill.

PJ and Karol, hurry up and order that new coach so you can come out to play!

Kristy

PS I'm going to be offline for a couple of days. Please post and/or email when you make your reservations. I will catch up when I get back.

I should know more about Jamboree dates by the end of the week. They think they are going to end it on the 20th but they don't know yet if it will end in the morning or the evening. We don't want to leave before all the good prizes are given! So, we will be leaving either the 20th or the 21st for Maryhill and on from there to the Spokane area.

I'll keep you posted as I get more info.

Made reservations today for the rally and we are scheduled to arrive Thursday July 10 and depart Monday July 21. There was a little problem extending our stay after the rally since details for the Jamboree have not been finalized. However, after a short time on hold I was informed they were able to confirm my stay for the whole time I requested and would contact us when details for the Jamboree were available so I could .pay fees associated with the Jamboree at that time.
We are looking forward to the Rally and Jamboree in July.

Glad they took care of that for you. We will also be leaving the 21st to head to Maryhill State Park in WA for a couple of nights before heading from there to the WA rally.

If anyone plans caravan with us to stay at Maryhill the 21st and 22nd, they should make reservations ASAP. There are not a lot of sites left when I made ours yesterday afternoon. We will be in site #2 up there.

Our site in Coos Bay will be #25. We have ours assigned already, but everyone else will get theirs assigned upon check-in, so don't be surprised by that. Site #26 is our rally meeting site. It is as protected from the wind as any site on that part of the coast can be. lol

Go ahead and make your reservations for this rally now. We will get the rest of the Jamboree info in awhile, but that need not slow you down for making our rally reservations.

Sorry Rod... I only meant to say that they are running low on sites the two night we will be at Maryhill. I didn't check availability for Sunday the 20th since I know we aren't going to leave Coos Bay Sunday like you guys are going to do.

Anyone else out there made reservations yet?

Kristy

Kristy & Mark,
We have our reservations to arrive July 11 and will be staying at least through the end of July, and probably longer. As you know we always enjoy our time on the Oregon coast and are looking forward to the Rally and Jamboree. Thanks for taking care of all the details. It should be great fun for all.

It will be good to see you guys again. It is my hope to take over the Jamboree with a bunch of Heartland people so we can corner all the prizes in our group! lol

Kristy: Is that really a DODGE I see in front of the Bighorn? I think it used to be a Chevy. Will be interested to talk with Mark on this one. Will make our reservations this week for the Oregon rally. We are heading to the Calif. coast tomorrow.

Retired Oregon HOC
That really is a Dodge instead of a GMC and there is a long story behind it you will have to hear from Mark. We're glad you can make it and by all means consider staying for the Jamboree and heading up to WA with the group. One rally is good, but three is even better!

Hi Kristy: Reservations are made for your Oregon Rally. We are arriving on July 10th thru 13th. We have also reserved the 14th thru 20th for the Jamboree. They will contact me with the particulars on the Jamboree when they get them figured out. And, we are going to WA. rally also. Will look at Maryhill ST Park and see if anything is available.

Yay jdfishing! Another one added to the convoy up to Washington! If you're interested in staying at Maryhill definitely do not wait in making your reservations as they were getting pretty booked up the last time I checked.

Great John and Deb! It will be good to see you guys again.

Maybe I can get some time in the next week or so to put together the attendee list so far so we can see where we stand and who is heading to Maryhill together. I know there will be lots leaving Maryhill together for Spokane!
