Give it a couple of weeks Donna, the new site rates haven't been decided as of yet. There will be a discount to rally participants we just don't know the exact dollar figure yet. I was premature in posting the event. Yet another rookie mistake. ED.

If they aren't available leave a message and one of them will get back to you. Last years rates were $46.00 per night BEFORE the discount. ED.

For anyone who was waiting for the rates to be decided before they signed up, the camp ground gods have decided that the nightly site rate for preseason will be $46.00 per night less the discount. Which if it is the same will be $4.00 per night. Making net cost $42.00. Pretty reasonable for Cape May.
Don' forget the gas saver option which allows you to leave the camper there unplugged for free, or $5.00 a day if you leave it plugged in. Memorial Day weekend will be in season rates. Contact the campground for all the info on this. Speak to Carol. ED.

Hi Kelly, The sites won't be returned to the campground until mid April. I should be able to get you a site even after that. I will warn you though the later it gets the higher the possibility of being unable to keep the sites together. I would reserve as soon as you know you'll be able to make it. As to deposit refunds I'm not sure of that. You could call Carol and explain the situation, she's a very nice lady. ED.

Irene and I are pleased to announce that we have a most deserving recipient for the Heartland gives back project this rally. A local South Jersey volunteer organization called the Yellow ribbon club South Jersey will be our chosen charity. A N.J. registered charitable org. Yellow ribbon club not only creates care packages for our troops overseas, but also organizes "rock star" homecomings for our local heroes. Being so close to memorial day....and our troops being the MOST deserving recipients, we ask that you give with your hearts. Attachments with a wish list for our men and women in both Afghanistan and in operation enduring Freedom will be coming soon. ED.

In our search for fun and interesting things to do while we're in Cape May in '14, Irene and I discovered a winery tour where they offer a "BARREL TASTING". Admittedly, we have no idea what EXACTLY a barrel tasting is. It's been suggested that we might get to sit around and nibble on wood, but I don't think that's actually the case. So an appeal goes out to our more wine savvy members to explain what the term entails. Also, is it worth the asking price of $20.00 per person during a 2 hour tour where you sample 8 different wines and get a tour of the actual vineyards? Just one of the many avenues we're exploring in an effort to bring you a great rally. Thanks in advance for your comments. ED.
As an added bonus they offer a free wine glass with tour. They also have lower cost tours that don't include as complete a package at $13.00 and $5.00 respectively. Any interest???? ED.

Hello all, With all the buzz about the National being in our backyard so to speak, I've been on hold for a while. It's time to start bugging you for some information. Irene and I were wondering out loud if: would you ladies like something other than a tee shirt? Possibly a vee neck shirt of some type? Any other suggestions? How much would you be willing to pay for a little nicer garment ? Or would it have to be kept in the current price range? Any and all comments welcome. PM me if you want to remain anonymous with your opinion. ED.

Only 25 days to Cape May. Also only 25 days to gather your donations for the yellow ribbon folks. We'll know approximately 1 week before the rally if they will be able to send a representative to speak to us. They actually have a welcome home party scheduled for a returning serviceman that day, so the coordinator will be unsure until about May 11 on availability. Until then here's a link to the website. I would like to thank those who feel I have talent. However, I am a man which maybe considered a Jack of all trades and Master of none! When it comes to talent this boy can't dance, can't sing and can't play an instrument. This is why I am having my attorney, Oh Feel Ya, reviewing my contract with the pageant and I am seeking an OUT! No talent, no SNOOKIE. Duane you got it right. Now if you want me to show you my firearms skill I can bring some props for a talented demonstration.

dbylinski
04-29-2014, 10:26 AM
Jim, Jim, Jim! Any home schooled attorney can figure out there is a NO OPT OUT clause. In this case I would suggest if you have no talent, you just stand there and do nothing! You will then be showcasing your best talent. Additionally, there would be no need to attempt avoidance of the No Out clause! Just cross your legs while sitting, hold out your pinky while sipping your Jack and ask a lady to light your cigar!

One last reminder: The yellow ribbon folks work hard to bring our troops overseas a little taste of home. Remember them with a few or MANY items from the wish list , which can be found in the link below my signature. ED.

What a Rally! Ed and Irene we love you guys! Although, there has not been much posted here, there sure was plenty going on at camp!

NJ Hosted a Mr. Heartland Pageant and OH MY......... I never laughed so hard in my life. Congratulations to Jim Marigliano, aka SNOOKIE (NY) for winning the NJ Crown with $42 in tips. Michael Walker, aka MICHELLE (MD) was 1st runner up with $33 dollars raised. John Proto (NY), Ed Hickman (MA), Glenn Schaaf (NJ) and Ed Matulewicz (NJ) also participated.

What makes this so special is all the monies tipped to the contestants was donated to Operation Yellow Ribbon, a NJ charity that sends care packages to our troops on deployment. The Pageant raised a total of $175 for the charity. In addition a basket raffle held throughout the weekend raised additional funds and the total contribution made to Operation Yellow Ribbon was an outstanding $537.00.

In addition to the generosity with Operation Yellow Ribbon, we continued our 50/50 Raffle to benefit Homes For Hero's at the Urbanna Rally. We raised and additional $142.00 making our total contribution $302.00 for the Homes For Hero's campaign!

Way to go NJ!

Way to go Ed and Irene, all of the New Jersey Chapter and members of the Northeast Region and others who attended the rally, worked the rally and contributed to the success.

Great work too on fundraising. It will be great having the Northeast region roll into the Urbanna rally with a check for Building Homes for Heroes!

We all had an absolute blast in NJ! Thanks to Ed and especially to Irene! Irene takes more or a silent role at the rallies but works sooooooo hard to make sure we have everything we need and we appreciate her to the moon and back! Thank you both from the entire group!

A big BZ !

Great rally and we got to keep Fran out till 11:30 by the fire monday night! Must have been all the fresh air down at "the Sunset".

Home Monday afternoon. Was able to travel just fast enough to blow all the oak tree seed pods off and hit enough construction bumps to loose a front wheel hub cap

It seems like a long time ago, but it's been just a week since we crowned our Mr. Heartland pageant winner. Congratulations Jim "Snookie" Marigliano. Thank you's go out too, to Glenn Schaaf, John Proto, Mike Walker and Ed Hickman.

Irene and I would like to take this time to thank you all for your generosity and continued support of the Heartland Gives Back Initiative. You folks opened up your hearts and your wallets to a worthy cause. In addition to the generous donations to Yellow Ribbon of N.J. you turned right around and dug deep for the Homes for Heroes raffle. YOU GUYS ROCK !!!!!!

Special thanks to John, Mike, Ann, Alice, Bill and all the others who pitched in with time and effort to help us make this rally a success. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to Debbie Bylinski , for her super human efforts and seemingly endless ability to come up with solutions to problems that arise. YOU ROCK TOO GIRL !! To my lovely bride, all I can say is; Thank you ,you make me look like I have a clue!!!

We're already looking forward to 2015 and with any luck, we'll be able to at least come close to the rockin' good time we had this year. Again thank you all for allowing us the pleasure of not only hosting your rally, but for getting to call you our friends. You are all special people and we are better for having met each and every one of you. ED. and Irene.

Thank you letters are on the way to the club and Dina personally for her generous contribution. That makes 2 years in a row that you folks have been generous to the point of getting the people in charge to notice. GREAT JOB FELLOW HEARTLANDERS!!!
