Refinancing

Got an email from Good Sam offering low rates on RV refinancing, so I sent them an inquiry. Their lowest rates are only on shorter term loans and don't have an application fee. But they do have a $399 closing fee. Called my credit union, got a quote for a longer term refi loan at a little less than GS with no closing fees. And it's 2% less than my current loan. Decided to refi the balance on the wife's car, too, for a much lower rate. Signing the papers tomorrow.

I still see some car companies offering 0% financing on new trucks too up in Canada here. There was an announcement by the Bank of Canada that they don't plan on increasing interest rates for several years. But our Canadian dollar sank and the American dollar strengthened on that note. They predict that by the summertime, our dollar will only be worth about 82 cents. I recall one time when it was only worth about 60 cents, so if you lost at am American casino, you REALLY lost and you went out that casino door with your tail between your legs - lol

Well after the State of the Union address, let's see what Borack Obama can do to better help out the American economy more. Geez, to me it sounds good, but then he still seems to have quite a challenge with congress. Well we have the Super Bowl and Olympics to take our minds off politics for a while.

After the dust settled, we reduced our car and trailer payments by a combined total of $126 a month. And did not extend the life of the loans, either. The 0% car loans are usually on the very short term loans, which requires a really big monthly payment.

The Stupor Bowl doesn't interest me, but I am concerned about the Olympics. The fanatics are looking to make a big splash on the international stage and the Russians are about as trigger happy as they get. It could make Munich 1972 look like child's play.

0% up to 84 months here in Canada. You pay full price for the car though. Either way you pay.
