Travelling Western Canada

Hi All,

Back from our first big outing in our 31', two slide Mirage 5th Wheeler. We got all the accidents over before we left. Lyle practiced backing up in Wal Mart parking lot and ended up taking out the back window in his brand new Dodge diesel 3500 Laramie quad cab and putting a small dent in it. Travelled through British Columbia from the south going up through Jasper National Park. Great views of glacier mountains. Saw mountain goats, moose, elk and a million RVs. Went through Alberta where we encountered a black bear eating berries at the side of the road and buffalo grazing in a field. On to Saskatchewan where we went to Batoche Days (A Metis celebration) lots of fiddle playing and dancing, plus a half way decent rodeo. Visited Ft. Carlton for some history and a most interesting Aboriginal Culture Center. Stayed at a great RV park right outside Saskatoon called Saskatoon 16 West. Great service. Got the satellite set up with no problems and the reception was great. Never knew there were so many different makes of RVs. It was fun just talking to people and getting their stories. Ran into people from all over Canada and some from Texas, Alabama and New York.

Thanks to all the advise and help I received from this site, our trip was a real pleasure. Only had one problem on the road, toilet got plugged up and it took awhile to figure out how to clear it, but finally did and on we went.

This is the only way to travel. Stop where you want to, live in the comfort of your own "home", travel for site seeing in the truck. Had a great, great time and got a good tan in the bargain.

I love RVing. We're off again in a couple of weeks to one of the many lakes in British Columbia.
