Change from King to Queen Bed

We have a 2014 Bighorn 3570RS and want to change the bed from king to queen. Has anyone done this and if so, what is involved in reducing the size of the platform? Our slide is electric, so I assume that would make the process easier. We plan to install a Sleep Number mattress once we figure out whats going to be involved. Thanks.

There was someone on this forum that did this mod. I'll do a bit of a search but I think older posts (real old) are archived now, and not searched?

Brian

EDIT: found two - One with the electric slide and one with the hydraulic slide.

We replaced our king with a Sleep Number. We bought the expanded queen and did not have to make any changes to the platform.

Thanks for that old post Brian. I am going to change our King for a comfortable Queen. I now know how to do it.

We did it after one week of ownership in 2009. Provided much more valuable room in the bedroom.
I trimmed one side only, the length remained the same.
Then centered the frame with the head board.
Some just trimmed one side but looks much better centered.
Most of the frame is stapled and I used screws instead.
Trimmed 12" on the frame if I remember right.
Matresses are 72" and 60" wide.
